Which foward pack is better?

In my last blog i was suprosed to see so many ppl dont rate Junior Paulo. Saying that we made the top 4 because of the props we had in 2017 etc
Ppl saying that fans who want Junior Paulo back are secretly player managers or fans who simply are looking out for their favourite players financial well being and care little about the clubs onfield success.

These responses have blown my mind.

Usually i wouldnt follow up the previous blog but i really wanted to do a sort of Poll to guage the over all feeling of the eels fans on this site, because for me, i believe that the as incredible of a job that the eels forwards did in 2017, they were too small up front and lacked a little bit of grunt in the front row.

So my question to everyone is..

Which of the following forward packs is better

#1.
● Tim Mannah
● Kane Evans
● Sui Matagi
● Daniel Alvaro

Extra (Siosia Vave)

Or

#2.
● Junior Paulo
● Kane Evans
● Sui Matagi
● Daniel Alvaro
Extra: (Siosia Vave)

I may very well be wrong, many of you know more than me no doubt. But i think #2 would be a better front row. In my past blog, i was unanomously disagreed with. But not many ppl shared their opinion. Would love to get a wider rang of ppls opinions. Like i said i may be totally wrong but i need more proof

P.s I Know Junior Paulo isnt availavle till 2019

  • Not fair question

Junior and Mannah are different props

so the second is better balanced

question should be which prop is the better battering ram

    junior

    vave

    evans

    • Why cant we have all 3?
How long is Mannah gonna stick around for?
  • Missed your last blog

    in two minds about Junior

we need a battering ram but not sure about juniors attitude

    - which has nothing to with him chasing the big bucks

    • Yep totally agree on that front.
For me, Tim Mannahs worth comes from his on and off field leadership
Who he is as a person
His ability to keep his team mates humble and leading by example

Without that humble anchor keeping them grounded who knows what may happen to the team

Juniors attitude hasnt been terrible but it hasnt been good either. Hes definately no leader of men, and hes definately no tim mannah.

We lose mannah and i fear we lose on field leadership and humbleness which is what tue eels desperately need to retain.

But on the flip side, the eels cant win a comp with their current front row in my opinion
  • Vave is underrated imo. We were at our best last year when he was there. Rarely makes an error unlike Terepo and Matagi. Matagi is very overrated he makes an amazing run once every ten rounds and disappears for the rest of the year

    • Yeah im not more in favour of one or the other. I just think Alvaro has to be there so i had to just flip a coin for matagi or vave. I like them both equally actually
  • I feel like we need more brute power up front and more intimidation. Kane evans is a good buy, but based on his career at the chooks he isnt enough for me! We need a real battering ram that hurts ppl and puts fear into ppl. Matagi is good, but hes too small, we need one more destroyer
  • I agree.
The reason i think Kane is a good buy though is because i think Brad Author can get him to where he should be

But again in saying that, Kane is nowhere near enough to be the tip of the spear for our prop forward pack
He could be a great secondary tip
  • I would love to snatch both Junior Paulo & Josh Papalli from the raiders on 2019

    With the possible retirments of
    Mannah
    Scott
Combined with the cash we already habe freed up, we could probably easily afford it.

We need to have the eels team assembled to its fullest potential before Jennings and Hayne get too old and start to slow down
Otherwise we will finally have great front row forwards and then be lacking in tue centres and we forever be chasing our tails
  • Yep thats my hope.
