Where Would Radradra Play?

With the Semi Train eyeing up a probable return to the NRL after informally meeting with the Dogs, many pose the question: Where would he fit in the eel’s line-up if he came back.

That is of course if we get him and can fork out the likely million-a-season price tag.

With Sivo more than justifying his spot with a stellar rookie year and Fergo arguably one of the games most established and proven wingers where would he go?

Whilst many people in the rugby community have said 2 thing

1. Push Fergo to centre – get rid of Jennings

With Jennings coming to an end in a remarkable career this option sounds viable HOWEVER the few games that Fergo has played centre for the eels he played horribly. The panthers game earlier in the year at Banky was probably the worst of them and saw him drop the ball god knows how many times. I don’t necessarily think this is the answer. He’s a natural winger and his performance against the Broncos with that ridiculous try proves why he should stay on the wing

 2. Play Radradra at centre inside Sivo – again get rid of Jennings

This is what most people in the NRL community are suggesting the dynamic duo of Sivo and Jennings. WOW imagine that. With Radradra coming directly from centre in union this is a great option in my opinion and one that would probably seem the most probable. However, I have an alternative.

HERE IS MY OPTION -

Play Radradra at 12 – fill the gap left by Manu Ma’u

Yes, this is a wild option however it would solve two issues. One is the departure of Ma’u to Hull and two the issues of filling in semi. In the past we have seen many union players who played centre for school (Tepai Moeroa, Angus Crichton, Cameron Murray) so why can’t semi repeat this. We have seen his ability to adapt to league coming from Fiji and I could see him becoming a wrecking ball in this department. Now obviously the higher defensive workloads would be an issue and there would be some serious training needing to be done in this area, however, due to the loss of Manu Ma’u (whose been enormous) we need someone here and, in my opinion,, with training, SEMI COULD FILL THIS GAP!

Now obviously people are going to think I’m an idiot, but wait and see, maybe this occurs, and when it does, I’ll be laughing.

    • No you're not sluggy

      Senile maybe.

  • Semi has a great passing ability and swapped in and out from wing and centre in attack while with the Eels because of this. For the price tag he would require, it would have to be centre for mine.

    • Why would that ability not be used more often as second row

  • If he has the fitness and attitude to play second row then give him the money we set aside for Fafita

Just need to make sure he does not go the same way as TRex and has the motor for second row. He played the role as Forward when he was winger anyway so attack should not be a problem. Just a matter of if he is up to the increased defensive workload.

    • I seem to recall Semi's defence wasn't that great despite a few big hits. That's one area Sivo has the better of him. We don't know how much union has changed his game though, so that would need to be assessed. Would be great to have him in the team, and this would complete arguably the best backline in the NRL.

    • I'm not saying he couldn't play there but I don't think he would want too. To get him it would be about the money and position he would play.

      That's my guess at least.

  • not sure if this suggestion is in the same category as guth to 9

  • I’d play Semi at left centre or left wing. He’s a left hand carry so left side for me and move Jennings to the other side to pair up with Fergo.

PS I love Sivo but Semis all day a better player though Sivo isn’t the finished product.

Semis game breaking ability was best in the NRL.That game against Brisbane in 2017 was truely man amongst boys.

    • What would you do with Blake?
