Where Were You When...

Where were you when it was announced that Melbourne had cheated. I'll start; I had just gotten home from school and a mate of mine gave me a ring and told me to turn on the T.V because something had happened to Melbourne. When I heard that Melbourne had cheated the salary cap I instantly wanted the premiership to go to Parra given that we would've beaten any team with a legal roster. Anyone who says we couldn't; We beat the Minor Premiers in the 1st week of the finals, I think we would've been able to beat any team with a legal roster. But you know what really gets my blood boiling is when Victorians say that they want more Rugby League. We gave you guys that and your club turned around and spat in our face. Think of all the Internationals and SOO games we sent down there and Melbourne didn't even have the decency to treat the NRL with respect.

  • Where were you when karmichael hunt announced he had signed with the gold coast suns
  • Just getting in car leaving work switched on radio- filled with so
Much anger. Sat in car thinking they robbed hindy, cayless, burty. Felt robbed about no celebratory drinks.
Will never forgive or forget. As a Parra fan I always hated dogs and manly but I have blind hatred of storm. I then thought of. 2006-2007 when those cheats knocked us out
I never got the chance to give it to mates like saints fans did last year.

I still think we are 2009 premiers. We beat the top three teams in finals and every other club in finals during that year.
  • I was at work praying that they were not going to give us the premierships.

No way I want sloppy seconds or the tag of second best premiers.

  • We weren't 2nd best, we were the best legal team in the competition. We would've won it fair and square.

    • How??? We were the only legal team that made it to the G.F. also, we beat teams that finished 1, 2 and 3. Therefore, by process of elimination we were the best legal team in 09.

        • They may have been in the regular season but they were the 1st Minor Premiers to have been beaten in consecutive semi-final games and knocked out as a result. Also, if you win the competition that year you are seen as the best team in the competition because, at the end of the day, you have the trophy and the premiership next to your name. No one really remembers the Minor Premiers but people remember the Premiers.
          • Which we were not. We lost the game.

Premiers were the Storm, but they cheated so the title is not ours.

I am happy to agree we were the best team, but not deserving premiers.

            • We weren't the Premiers but we would've beaten any other team on G.F. day.
              • I agree mack. Nobody knows what would have happened if Melbourne were not cheating. They may have not even made the eight, and if so, how would that 8th team have gone?
Melbourne may have made the eight but gotten beaten by another team, if they were coming lower on the ladder before the finals.
You just don't know what would have happened.
By Melbourne cheating the whole competition was robbed of what might have been, not just Parramatta.
        • sheesh...............your a dumbass mack

your theory only works if its a proper comp with each team playing every team twice, home and away, and no origin disruptions............................

untill that happens, minor premiership means jack, and the team that wins the gf, is the best team in the comp............

"When you look at it that way, 1.2 is a lot. I reckon he has more in him than what he's showing at the tigers. Under Ryles he'd be a different/better player in my opinion.

"💯 I think for the most part he's had his foot out the door.
Even the defensive urgency isn't there for him anymore."
