Where is the enquiry into Scott Seward?

With the latest contract drama regarding Hoppas contract and more recently Foran, the Nrl should be holding an enquiry into the conduct of Scott Seward. It is becoming increasing obvious that Seward was operating outside of his powers and he was clearly too inexperienced for the role.Should the Eels be held responsible for the actions of a Rogue CEO?Should the playing roster suffer now because of his activity?Should Hoppa have to lose money now even though he signed the contract in good faith.I really dont know the answer to this , all i know is that if Seward has over stepped his powers then there has to be some personal accountability.

  • Can someone edit that title. Im having trouble doing so
    • I see you have been watching The Great Australian Spelling Bee on channel 10.

Go to options> then to edit blog.

  • Hmmm maybe Seward isn't the cancer man . I still don't buy it sorry board :-)
  • Like the heading stats there should be a enquiry. However there was a disclosure agreement that both Steve sharp and Tom Issa made Scott sign before he left. This agreement doesn't give Scott the opportunity to explain the issues. And in return defend himself. This protects sharp and Issa. These 2 should be taking the blame along with Scott.
  • Actually, from my understanding it was within his powers. But they were some shocking decisions he made on his own.
The hard thing is that he is in a non disclosure period so we won't hear his side of the story for 2 years.
  • Well said frankie Fong. I only wish that Scott didn't sign that agreement. However he had no choice, he had to sign it in order to get his money. This has left Scott unemployable. I think this agreement ends in October. I wonder wat sharp and Issa will have to say for themselves when the truth comes out and Scott can defend himself. Watch this space time will tell.
  • Mate, is that for sure that the non-disclosure agreement has a time limit? That's unusual.
There had to be some accountability. Even if Seward had gone rogue there are major problems with governance and accountability structures. I said this before but I can't see Sharp surviving these dramas as Chairman.
  • I find it interesting that Sharpe came out inmediately after the Foran story broke and made several statements.
Since the Hoppa contract has broken he hasnt said Boo.

Im unsure how i feel about the current board now. All i know is that they are a length ahead of where we were with Spagnolo and co.

I still feel as though the Eels are finally headed in the right direction
  • Fongy, i understand where you are coming from however i have a situation at work at the moment where an employee withheld vital governance warnings until it was too late. It was partially due to incompetence and partially stupidity.
Should my company have to pay the price now for one employee not doing her job or should there be some kind of penalty on her.
    She also lost her job
  • Well thats my point. If Sharpe new about this and Seward inserted the clauses then Sharpe needs to go.
They need to make an enquiry though so that this wont happwn again.its an embarrassment
