Where Does Parra Go Now?

Well the dust has settled, only temporarily, before Parra begin to make their submission to the NRL to get their points loss down graded. Now I thought I heard (maybe wrongly) that the evidence the NRL has is confidential and will not be handed over to Parra. If so this is denial of natural justice. Imo the NRL investigation must be transparent and their evidence,  conclusions and calculation of the amount given to Parra.

Parra's own cap manager, Schubert, has a different amount, so who is correct? My money would be on Schubert based on the many years he worked with it.

From what I have read the NRL made assumptions on the TPAs based on board minutes (and probably evidence provided by Seward - he wouldn't dump on his former employers would he?) which could be erroneous or correct. BUT their reasoning on their assumption must be provided to Parra.

The ball is now firmly in Parra's control to make a submission to the NRL challenging their conclusions, but they must have the NRL evidence in front of them! If they get no satisfaction their next move could be the courts, let them decide what is actual evidence or what is mere speculation.

All we supporters can do is to sit tight and hope the club does everything in its power to get the points loss downgraded. In the meantime give our clubs all the support you can. GO THE EELS!

  • This is why the Supreme Court challenge is good because whilst it's only to "save their own asses" the evidence used for the deregistering of the board members/staff is the same used for the points penalty and fine.

If successful in proving their case in court, they would have also proven the penalty for points/fine isn't correct.

Looks like Monday arvo could provide more answers after another day in court.

I half think that a deal will be brokered over the weekend which if we can confirm cap amount/get it sorted, will see a drastic reduction in points and the infamous 5 walk.

The NRL barrister didn't sound confident in his argument against an expedited trial.
  • Either way we loose... On one hand if the NRL revises the points deduction imagine the out cry from the do gooders and dead heads out there not to mention the Storm and roid crims who barrick for the Doggies... And if the point deduction remains or is added to we are screwed.
The NRL have handled this terribly...how we're all the wankers on the footy show stating 'the NRL has done an amazing job..' What a wank.. They should have had a round table meeting with the Eels board members telling them of their intention of docking points and supporting evidence and given the Eels time to respond prior to making a decision... I really do think our legal team believe there is a big chance we can fight this otherwise they wouldn't bother and the NRL will have shot themselves in the foot.. Greenturd has fucked up coming out with a big media hoo ha when even he said their investigations were only preliminary... I also believe the NRL is basing their calls on a lot of verbal evidence from that dog Seward... And the talks they had together prior to speaking to the Integrity Comission is going to bite him on his hairy, pimply arse!
  • Not quite. Seward can give evidence of the things he has personally done or seen.
  • Would be great to see Seward in the witness box.
  • Perth
    • Might be a bit hard to move all of Parra to Perth. I mean, how do you move the river?

    • It's difficult but anything worthwhile is worth doing well
  • Parra's own cap manager, Schubert, has a different amount, so who is correct? My money would be on Schubert based on the many years he worked with it.

so if he has parra only $200,000 over the cap and thinks the whole drama not as bad as the nrl are saying,  why are we not running this to the nrl, or media more or courts..

  • Hahaha Captain....logistically impossible where they gonna put there swan.
  • Haha coco.
I don't trust the NRL...they'd probably lose Parra on the nullabour in transit somewhere.

"De Belin will do a lot of the clean up work, the 3rd man in for our defence. Hopgood is now not alone in that area. He will not be flashy but he will definately do his job."

"positives are Loiero is out. That is a big piece of their middle, he does a lot of clean up work in defence, tightens up the attack. No Katoa and they are umming and arring whether to play Ativalu Lasati or Joe Chan on right edge.
