Where do these guys get off?

Brisbane centre Justin Hodges has slammed the treatment of Greg Inglis, saying he wouldn't blame the Melbourne superstar if he walked away from rugby league.Having already seen his best mate Karmichael Hunt and more recently Israel Folau leave league to accept big-money AFL deals, Hodges is worried Inglis's battle to gain a clearance from the Storm to join Brisbane could see him become a free agent if things drag on much longer.Melbourne have given Inglis permission to do pre-season training with Brisbane until his dispute over a legal bill is resolved.http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/hodges-says-inglis-could-walk-away-from-league-20101104-17eqw.htmlSeriously, where do some of these pricks get off?? Inglis incurred that legal bill for assaulting his girlfriend. And in the end, whilst avoiding a conviction, was ordered to attend a behavioural amendment program and pay $3000 to a women's' health group. That's why the outstanding legal fees exist and, last I checked, they have to be paid - just like any other bill. The Storm don't want to pay it - now that they don't have Inglis's services and if they do pay it, it comes of their cap for next year. Brisbane don't want to pay it for similar reasons and so Hodges predicts that Inglis will throw the toys from the cot and walk away from the game??Perhaps he should have thought about this before throwing a punch in the direction of his girlfriend's face!!What a spoilt bunch of arseholes some NRL players are becoming...

  • I thought punching someone else can under a civil matter so why should either club pay for his defense, he should have forked out the cash just like the rest of us would have to, seem to be a law unto themselves.
  • I'm a Year 11 Legal Studies student and I know for sure that assault is a criminal matter not civil but that's not the issue. The club originally offered to cover it for him though and so they're arguing about this.
  • BM you're exactly right. At the end of the day, shouldnt these solicitors have a cost agreement set up? The Cost Agreement should be enforceable on whoevers name is on there. If it is in fact Greg Inglis who signed the Agreement with no Authority signed that Storm would pay his bills then he is liable. However if Melbourne STorm were in fact the ones that signed the Agreement then they should be liable. I dont understand where the complication arises?

As for Hodges, that little inbred sook should just go dig a hole for himself and never show his face in the NRL again, i cant stand that turd of the highest order.
  • The fact that a cheat like Inglis are even allowed to play in the NRL is charity enough.

Now he's prepared to hold his club and the game to ransom for legal bills he incurred. After all, it was him that punched his girlfriend in the face... surely neither club are liable for that.

Then for Justin Hodges to talk to the media about a situation he has no part of, that deserves a swift kickbox to the head.
  • Greg Bird and Greg Inglis, same crime:Assaulting Girlfriend, yet Bird gets on with it and pays his dues, Inglis carries on like a pork chop. Inglis man up and pay your dues.
  • If Inglis wants to leave league, see ya, there will be another one come along soon, the game is bigger than any of it's players, he is a great player but he also has a massive head
  • Weell said Bourbon Man - when i read about this my immediate reaction was WTF !!!!!

Let me see, if I bashed my girlfriend , my employer will PAY THE FINE ??? WTF

    Memo to Inglis

Man Up you GRUB - you hit your girl, not your employer, so how about....YOU PAY THE FINE....stop your whinging YOU GRUB and if you had half a brain, you would have paid the fine so that the issue would be finalised & would not be up for discussion in the public arena

Stop being such a SPOILT SOOK Inglis....PAY YOUR FINE MORON !!!!!!!!!!

BTW - how much money do you make for playing Footy - YES more than our Prime Mininster - so pay the measly $3000 and SHUT THE HELL UP......you big spoilt Baby !!!!!!!!

BTW - Shame on you Hodges for supporting such immaturity by Inglis

BTW - Shame on the Melbourne Storm for agreeing to pay the fine in the first place !!!
  • Here here Bourbs......I'm with you.....

Inglis should pay his own fine, not like he can't afford it.......
  • Can the NRL take action against players who place the game into negativity constantly ?Really ,last year we had (no names ) but a certain player criticise the NRL all year in public . The fact that he plays without being fined is a joke .
  • Not saying I agree with gregs stance but from what i read brian waldron hired the lawyer and directed him to protect the image of the storm. Inglis was then advised when the legal bill reached 75k which he agreed to pay but then made an agreement with waldron for the storm to pay the rest. So I say to both parties man up pay your shares and F*n move on.
