  • Couldn't agree more. Players missing from our starting side = Sio, Hoppa, Ma'u, Mannah, Peats. We made a top four team very nervous. Only Keary spotting a weakness down our right in the final 15 mins won them the game.

  • Absolutely hamish.
  • Need quality players & fill the voids with juniors. Love these players but they will not bring you success. Time to release, some might turn out to be champions with other teams but not with our mix. Our salary cap is the joke of the league, fancy forking out $700 000 for players that don't play for us. I'm sure this year is a step in the right direction but our team lacks class. Panther moved on some great first graders & picked up some handy players that some thought were to old. Well there doing things right & that's what our team needs. Stop with this Whatmough to old, Mason to old, he to injury prone, our team needs direction & a tough spine. Yes we are missing some handy first graders but out depth is suppose to get us through tough times. Manly can have there halves missing, fullback, back rower & still win. That's because they have a tough playing group, we don't!!!
  • You look at our first 3rd of the season with all players on deck, 6-2?

We most likely won't make the 8 due to injuries but we have developed good young players into great prospects with NRL experience for the future.

We also won't get the spoon!

I've enjoyed most of the season but with Peats, Mau and Hoppa out, our agro and speed has been non existent.

    Next year, next year.

  • I had then at 10

But the start to the season had me thinking top 8.

With the injuries and loses, I'm now desperately trying to hold onto 10.

It's not whether they lose it's how they lose. Last night was better even if the score looked the same.
  • I originally thought 12th. We may still grab that spot although I suspect we may not win another game. We can blather all we want about which
  • ... Oops ... Which players out injured but the truth is our halves have failed to develop and we're defensively clueless.
  • I had them at 12th . We've blooded some young players because of good form and injury this will help them later. I really do see a brighter future.
  • Yep. A brighter future. The hope of Eels fans since '86.
  • We could really afford the injuries we had. Especially to peats, hoppa and sio considering their replacements. If not for those is say we'd be on at worst 22 and at best 24pts with a far better for and against. Oh well...

Hard to compare but I think the right edge looked better with Samrani on the weekend. There is no doubt Will has alot of talent but he looks like one of those players who would excel somewhere else since his debut he hasn't really been challenged for…
