Where are our fans?

Our best win of the year against the Broncos was again in front of a very small crowd (12K). The question is, why?The club heavily promoted this game across social media & also put on a ticket special. The club had won 4 in a row. We had at least 15K Eels fans at the Tigers game (as a conservative estimate, it may have been closer to 20K). As Lara Bingle once said "where the bloody hell are you?" The Broncos probably had at least 1,000 fans there too.Weather? Dry, not too cold (x)Transport? Free with tickets (x)Time of game? Friday night isn't always great at ANZ but we've had good crowds previously. (maybe)I can't get my head around this. We have a winning team in good form and their playing so courageously despite injuries, yet we can't get 20K? Even 15K!Surely, soon, the fans will realise that the finals are literally right there to be grabbed with both hands, and that they can really help the team over the line? The 12K at the Broncos game were loud, but we need more. We can do so much better than that. Considering this team is the first in 8 years to have a positive win-loss ratio and will possibly play finals, I'd be out there at every possible moment. So come on everyone, it's getting warmer, the Eels are flying, the finals are coming. Let's get out there in biggdr numbers and support this team. They're giving it their all, let's do the same.Bring on the Bulldogs!

  • Friday night at ANZ. Sydney traffic is enough to keep anyone away
    • But there is free transport. People need to realise they can't drive to Olympic Park.
    • Friday night after a hard weeks work a HD TV , a few beers and the heater is where it's at .
  • I went with a group of 30 last Sunday including 20 kids. It was the last afternoon game of the year. This week we all stayed home. Much harder with kids on a Friday night
  • I think alot of fans thought we would be humiliated tonight.
  • Too cold & parra weren't playing good at all up until last night. Only jst beat the team coming second last by 1 point last week. Broncos on the other hand smashed dogs by 40. I think u'll see an improved crowd next Thursday
    • Poor excuses.

Playing well or not shouldn't be a deciding factor in going to a game or not. The team is pushing for finals birth and you're playing a top 4 side and your players need you there to give the players wings.

  • Everyone thought we'd be hammered, who wants to watch that. Watch the crowd numbers go up now!
  • I was going to but i worked double shift yesterday and just didn't have the energy i frove home got stuck in traffic got home turned it on and missed the 1st 15 mins witch was a good a thing obviously.
    • I drove and had no problem getting parking or getting to the ground, exactly the same as last week with 30k there. Seriously can't understand why we only get 12k to our home game on a Friday night especially given we haven't played semi final footy since 2009. This was probably our biggest game since that gf. Appalling Parra fans. Appalling

Smith is our long term starter, if TDS wants to stick around and come off the bench, then good, he'll grow into it.
