Whens the result known?

For those of us who live inter state. Will the election result be known by kickoff. Do we find out the result tomorrow how's it work?the big fear for us out of towners is if Sharps 7 are not elected will be the further disruption sdown the track in relation to investigations into the previous boardmembers.i can't see how anyone can vote for anyone other than parra first. No wonder we can't win on the feild when our clubs energy is always put into board room bickering. It's a joke.

  • Was told results will be out at the conclusion of the game
  • The bickering is only coming from the challengers. The incumbents have not entered into mud slinging in any way. This should be the clearest message. I wish the media would understand that!
    • Mate, the media know it - it just doesn't sell papers.
    • Exactly right 60's... frustrating as hell to keep reading all this ongoing crap about how dysfunctional our Board is when none of the turmoil actually comes from our Board!!! Be nice if one of these sub standard journos actually wrote an article about the clowns who are not wanted by the club or the fans, who have been removed from office via voting, who just refuse to accept defeat and refuse to let the club kick on and prosper.

Truth is we don't have a Board in turmoil... we have a bunch of self obsessed agenda driven sociopaths who will not accept the wishes of the greater membership base which is for them to not be part of the Board and believe that the best way to show their love of the club is to try and tear it to pieces.

  • Cheers Dan. The problem is Sixties for people who aren't in the heart of Eels territory we only get an overview of the happenings. Through the media it doesn't paint a very good picture. I'm aware of the medias agenda. I'm not an upcoming player who is easily influenced being offered a contract by the eels. Mud sticks. Im lucky enough to be a member of this site which allows me to learn some of the ins and outs courtesy of bloggers like yourself. It's much appreciated. The problem is there's a lot of supporters out there who are not and can be easily influenced by the diatribe.
  • Spanner. I'm not being a smart a** here. Legitimate question.
I lost what you were saying part of the way through and am keen for clarification.
It seemed you were saying that the Wyong people are impressed by the way things have turned around so quickly with our club. Is this correct?
The second part seemed to mean we're in trouble and our current board needs to go.

    I'm keen to correctly understand.
    • We really need to learn from this debacle and media swipe at the eels and hold all elections in the off season.
    • Dunno if that'll happen unless the constitution changes. They have to be held every two years and to hold them in the off season one board would have to call the election only 16 months into their term, it's pretty unlikely they'd wanna do that. May is a pretty safe time in the NRL season to hold the election (from a board's perspective), if the team is going well them can rely on it. If the team is going crap there is enough time to recover.
    • A good board would be willing to hold an election after 16 months. If what they are after is stability and good governance, then they would look at the positives that would come from a change of date.
    • Also a May election is close to end of Financial year. There won't be any bickering over which half of the year the profit was made in.
