I just listened to the well spoken Dave Gower discussing the game this weekend and he quoted me, "Possession is King." If you thought the players don't read our blogs think again. That is the second time Gowie has quoted me. It would not surprise me if Gower gets into coaching after his career is finished as he does speak well and does have a way with words.
Gowie, next time I will have to ask for royalties :)

Coryn, I've been posting blogs about stats for a few years on this site and I have been using the phrase "Possession is King" for several years now. Brett just requoted what I have been banging on about for some time. I discussed possession in a big way in the first three rounds this year if you go through my blogs. I didn't do a blog on round 4 because I was to angry and Brett jumped in and highlighted what I have been discussing in the previous rounds.
This blog is not whether the opinion is correct, but that our NRL players do follow this site.
Not that it matters, but I didn't plagiarise you Dave. I'm not saying you didn't coin the term first, I just don't recall reading the term here at all by you or anyone else. I'm not claiming ownership of it in any way.
But I think you and I are in agreement that this is our core issue at the moment, as does Brad clearly.

You coined the phrase 'possession is King'?
I've been actively using that phrase on this site for a few years now. We know that the players follow this site and there has been a number of incidents that confirm that. For your info Gowie was upset that I stated in the past he was looking skinny and his comments got back to me.
This blog is just confirmation that players do have a sticky beek at what is being written on this blog, good bad or indifferent, therefore we do need to be mindful what we write as sometimes we do cross the line.
