When is a tackle deemed to have been completed?

Why is it every Bulldogs game I can be bothered watching, their players are lifting the opposition ,and even when the player is down ,they drag them back several metres? When other sides do the same, the ref immediately blow the pea out of their whistle? Are the refs scared Dessi will scowl at them?Having said that some or the penalties awarded by the ref yesterday, both to us and the opposition, they were laughable. It is almost as if they were told an "x" amount of penalties had to awarded in a given time frame, regardless whether there was an infringement or not.

No doubt Archer will come out at the end of the round and commend the performance of the refs and claim they got 98% of the decisions correct.

  • The ref was yelling held even while the tackle is still going. I want to see the sin bin used for teams purposely slowing the game down.
  • You would swear the refs were auditioning for the Rugby test tonight, penalties, non stop penalties, that was such a $hit game to watch.
    • Rugby.... The referees have taken that game to the tip
  • I agree that it happens constantly and they slowed down our play of the ball way more than we were able to but it really didnt cost us the game. We were just not in the contest.
  • Once the penalty count was our way the ref held back . Kasianos flop and Reynolds will obviously keep tripping people after last night that to me was a take 10 in the bin son. They have changed the rules that many times in our game that manipulation of any current rules comes easy to players in today's game. Bring back the BIN you gits.
    • tripping used to be an instant send off. It's one of the grubbiest acts you can do on a footy field. I'd rather see two blokes go punch for punch in the middle of the field than seeing a player trip another.

For mine there's only 2 things worse than tripping and that's biting and tanking a match, whether it be for money or not for money. Those are the 3 things you just don't do.

  • Ham tanking is it like fixing a game?. Or is tanking like planking? Apart from that we sukd last night. We had them on the ropes in the first half and didn't show any initiative. When your opposition are big doods and tired you throw inside passes. By the time we sat down at half time and chatted about it and tried inside passes in the second half it was too late. Foran would have split those blobs in two last night I just hope the rest of the team can keep up.
