Born into a blue and gold family in 1971 , wouldn't have it any other way, first game around the age of 4 and was there to watch our last game at Cumberland oval , there with my sisters and folks to burn it down at the age of 10 , what memories. Have three little eels (daughters) of my own now and have already laid down the law that no future son in laws are to b anything but blue and gold thru and thru, great memories that every eels fan should experience (winning premierships) . There's one coming soon!!! GO U EELS!!!
1987. Me and my friends at primary school were at lunch break were talking about the NRL and who our favourite team was. I picked Parra that day, and have stuck with them since. A bit strange I know :-)
I was in second class in Fairfield West Primary school, so about 1977, and they had a school footy day where you could buy stickers, cup cakes, hats ect. So yup loved the colour blue n yellow, so that was it. Stuck by them since that day.
Growing up in blacktown, it had to be Parra (closest footy team). Still remember primary school in the early 80's and Parra always winning, great memories. I still have the memory of holding a 1980 Graeme Atkins scanlens footy card in 1st grade at school.
I was on a holiday with the family and the 2000 grand final was on, i was 6 yrs old and cried because they lost and since that day stuck by them even though they lost the first game i ever saw them play.
1996. Grew up in the Hills, had a few years trying in a half-arsed way to support the Bears, but in my first year of high school decided the Eels were my team and that was that.
C'mon Parra!
