I've been thinking about this a lot today.
Why aren't the board (all seven of them) bowing to public pressure and quitting?
The three named in the preliminary breach report have overwhelming evidence against them. What's in it for them to hang around? They won't get re-elected.
The other four - this has me more puzzled. Why won't they give Bevan Paul the Group CEO role? He's do a cracking job at the Leagues Club - it's never made as much money. He's not everyone's cup of tea - he doesn't take shit from anyone. But he is strategic and knows how to make money.
Word is that they offered Bevan the job long term, but that some board members backflipped and changed their minds down to two months.
There's a lot of backflipping in relation to employment offers in this joint, isn't there?
Anyways... I want to know why won't they give Bevan the role? Don't they think he's up to it? Are they scared that his strong personality will make him difficult to manipulate? Have they got a better plan?
I would genuinely like to know the answers.
Also, what has happened to that Labor mate of Tanya's, Jack Whelan, who was brought in to assist the Board with the NRL investigation and our response? His website says he is a dispute resolution expert.
How's that working for you Jack? Seems like you're doing a cracking job resolving our dispute with the NRL. They're bloody walking all over us. http://www.jjwhelan.com.au/about-jj-whelan/
So, what is really keeping all these people hanging around?
Ego? Trying to salvage reputations (no chance, so fellas)? Let's hope it's not something more sinister.
