What would you do?

OK, I've decided I need to give serious consideration to laying off this bet I've got ($31 at 160-1) on the Eels to win the comp. Not even so much because I don't think we're going to win, but because I'm thinking it might soften the blow if we lose, I at least come out winning some money!

So this is where I'm at. The way I'm looking at it I've got 4 options. 1. I bet on the Bulldogs to win the GF at 4.1. If we lose then I'll have a team to cheer for going into the GF (although it will kill me to cheer for the Bulldogs!). I personally think it will be us or the Dogs that win it. I can then also cover the other team so its a no-loss result. 2. I bet on the Bulldogs to win this week. This way if we lose I've got money in my pocket without having to worry about the GF. Although it does mean if Parra wins I have to bet against us again in the GF to cover the money I lose this week. 3. Bet against Parra. Simplest bet - I could bet against Parra. So I could guarantee myself say a $500 profit on any of the other teams but it would cost me 3.7 times the amount I want to win if Parra do go all the way. 4. Just keep letting it ride. I still think we're going to win and the gambler inside me just wants to let it all ride. At the moment I'm thinking I might go 1. but just with a couple of hundred so that most of it remains riding on Parra. (By the way, I had a dream - it was Darren Lockyer being interviewed after the grand final complaining that the try that was disallowed should have been given and it cost them the match!)

I'm not a gambling man myself, so this is probably a bit hypocritical but..... What the @#$5 are you doing even contemplating not betting on us? Do not give the land of KARMA any reason to give us the kiss of death... :)

I think you should give yourself a bit of an uppercut Phil, cheering for the Bulldogs for whatever reason. See KARMA above, don't think about any other mob, especially that mob of mongrels winning. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate, what are you thinking.

Don't venture down the what might soften the blow road, nothing will. If the unspeakable happens, we all will have to harden the hell up. At least we will finish the season better than where it looked like it was going to go. Anything more is a bonus.

if u have enuff cash in your account hit the 3.8 lay in 282 ... if parra go out you're up 250 ..if they win you;re still up 4 grand ..yu can hit the lay behind if you want to lock more in .Open prob is hitting that ..'you back parra to lose button' Alternatively put a couple of hundred or whatver on bulldogs at 2 bucks on the game.. then back whoever we play in final . I personally would lay at 3.82 ..god forbid we lose you make enuff for a commiserate night out

I had a dream last night aswell but it was more of a nightmare it was us losing 24-13 to the bulldogs

Lay them on Betfair for sure. I had the same dilema for the Newcastle grand final. It was a small consolation collecting the cash after the crushing dissapointment of the game.

It is possible that your bet was directly responsible for turning our season around. Everything affects everything and so on. By changing your bet, you might upset the natural order and end our run of form. Just in case this is true, please don't change that bet!
