Reading the blog about annoying charity workers,reminded me of another annoying group,the hawkers.You know the ones,they are tourists lugging around big bags of junk around industrial estates trying to flog crap.I did that job for one day back in 1994 with a Danish back-packer around Neutral Bay.The Dane made $20.I've never heard such rude language from respectable looking people.I always buy something off them ,just because I remember the pain,anger and humiliation..

Domino's Pizza delivery,$5 per hour,your car and fuel.What a joke! $20 for a 4 hr shift,minus tax,minus your fuel.
Filling LPG cylinders at Elgas at Arndell Park.6am starts,a piggery next door,frozen gloves and twisting valves on and off every minute.I worked there for one month and got RSI in my wrists so bad,I could punch a wall and not feel a thing for the pins and needles.The frozen gloves meant all the skin around my fingernails was always cracked and split.Great fun.
The glass industry where I am now.A sheet of glass broke while I was moving it.I thought I got lucky when it broke as I felt no pain in my wrist.Then I saw the spurting blood and the wriggly bits in my wrists.I clamped down hard while the others called an ambulance.The floor looked like a Saw movie set.I did one artery,2 of the 3 nerves,and 8 out of 10 tendons.4 and half years later I still don't have full movement back in my fingers.All that for a measley $25 per hour,no sickies,no holidays and no penalty rates.
I was back at work ,working with one functional hand in 3 weeks.All the bludgers on disability payments should get a kick on the arse and be made to pick up rubbish along the M4.

Worse job ever? LOL cleaning the public toilets. Man you should see the shit (literally) people would leave floating in the bog. I didn't last long there. three days I think...then my second worse job was working in a morgue in London. That was freaking freaky and terrible. I had to put make up on the dead...f**k me but never again...I became a music journo and never looked back
For a short time i had to help a friend that owns sydney adult book store, as a favour i had a few weekend shifts behind the counter, the shop had toys, booths, little share pods, and a little cinema.
Theres some heavy stuff that goes on, had to call the Ambo and cops twice for overdoses in the booths, gotta boot homeless dudes out, clean up syringes, and deal with some serious perverts and deviates, guys like Alan hunt lurking around all day.
The chinese guy who lived above was the cleaner, he would come in emergencies, man it gets fekking nasty.
My gay brother worked in a sex shop.Had some gangster sounding heavies,calling me ,trying to get hold of him after he dobbed them into the cops for something.,At the Wayside Chapel in the Cross,we had to instal a leadlight window.We lay a blanket down to catch the stray putty,after checking carefully for used syringes.I step in something soft,squishy and stinky,Some junkie had taken a dump in the garden,and poo being brown,as soil is brown,Tommy Boy wearing dark shades totally missed it.
Talk about gross and disgusting! One of the staff came out with a bucket,disinfectant,and a still brush and helped me to clean the poo off.Needless to say,those shoes went straight into the bin at the end of the day.
A couple of the dudes who came in? Far out! For a boy like me from the suburbs? lets just say we don't have deviates like that in the hills district, well except for when Sinners is drinking at the Winston..

Office workers are fucken pigs. Worst were the women, leaving tampons and pads around.
I used to work in a Library at Hurstville Council.One day near the end of the night,the poor cleaner came up to me with a sick look on his face.He showed me the Ladies toilet.It was as if someone had run a s**t sprinkler in there.Every wall,the ceiling and the floor was covered in shit.Some people are complete pigs.Imagine what their homes are like?
The very worst job I had was working in i.t for Luxottica, they treated you with total disdain, you worked hard you got shit, you done nothing you got shit, when you spoke up you got hit with performance plans.
It was like nothing I had ever experienced and I put up with it for 2 years, kids, wife off and mortgage had me be the balls. Eventually I found the right job, but working at Pizza Hut, as a painter, warehousing, driving trucks nothing paled in comparison. Truth is now I can't even go into a Sunglass Hut or OPSM I am that sickened by that experience, sad but true.
McDonalds wasn't that bad, but it was probably my worst job so far. Everything else has been sweet.
