What was B.A. prior to Coaching??

Does anyone know what Brad Arthur did for a living before he was a Rugby League coach. I tried Wikipedia but it only informs of his coaching credentials nothing prior to Coaching. Knowing what he did prior to this might explain his coaching style. I know Brian Smith was a school teacher as was Daniel Anderson and I think Kearney was one of those blokes that holds the Stop/Go signs on roadworks.

  • All Footy mate. played Parra Juniors u.21s then over to penrith lower grades.

At 22 he went to Batemens Bay as captain  coach then up to queensland for 8 years at Brothers as captain coach where he made 6 grandfinals. Then off to Melbourne Storm under Bellamy, coached u/20s winning the comp, then moved up to Bellamys assistant. He then moved to the Eels as assistant coach when Ricky came he moved Arthur on . He went accross to Manly for a couple of months and then back to the Eels when Ricky left. Head Coach ever since.

One would think having worked under and with so many great players and coaches he would have things under control. Im still not convinced we should move him on. I think his choice in our onfield captain needs looking at as well as recruitment needs to look at an xfactor player somehow. Further its appearing Arthur coaches and improves players to only have them not retained.

    • Totally agree with you BE. Gutho has been well below par both defensively and in attack. His contribution to the post match interview is poorly considered. And he slouches around with a hound dog expression. There didn't seem there was steadying the ship against dogs. Simple message - play strong, direct and simple until things turn. But no let's try to get impossible passes away and miss tackles. Junior is not the answer however.

    • Yeah but he must have had another job before football

  • Would you like to know his address as well?

    • I picture him living in the most plain and basic house in the street . Neat , tidy , yet the absaloute definition of practical.  I picture BA being the bloke in the middle house. His mrs wanting to upgrade to keep up with her GFs and Brad insisting on their house doing the job it was built for so there's no need to get all flashy.

      • I'd be asking the council why the house on the left was allowed to build the chimney jutting out over the house in the middle.

      • if you listen to frank and co, it is jakes house on the right and matts on the left.

    • Not particularly but his pants size would be nice

"Eels v knights is also a big draw card but we usually only get them once and it's at Newcastle 9-10 times.
When the draw is un-even in relation to how many times teams play other teams there needs to be some fairness involved.  I can't see why the…"
