What The ?

Last night on Fox @ about 730--8 pm they showed Mitchell Pearce leaving with his mother overseas for rehab treatment "for an extended period."

Nothing on this site about that at all? Has good sense come to pass?

If so, well and good. Just remember : There but for the grace of God, go the Eels.

  • Apparently they are heading to PhaNgan in Thailand for some rehab.
    • Pha Ngan? I heard it was Pee Pee island.
  • Something we can agree on Robert.

The kid obviously has good parents and upbringing, it's just the grub he can't handle. Maybe it's in his gene but we didn't know it because his dad was a tea totaller.

Anyway, I hope he gets help and comes good. But his still needs to be penalised for being a drunk tosser.

And yes, it could be any one of us or our kids.
    • I read that Wayne was a tea to taller because his father was a alcoholic and died young, so after seeing what he went through he vowed not to drink. He had good reason and motivation not to drink, Mitchell would not have the same motivation as as his father as he didn't go through the same issues growing up, this is a massive wake up call and one he needed let's hope some good comes from this.
    • Has anyone seen Wayne Pearce out 'on the piss'? He doesn't drink but still carries on like a tool. I'd hate to see what he'd be like if he did drink. Maybe Mitchell's behaviour offers a glimpse into that hypothetical?

  • No good rehab places within Australia? I mean if you are locked inside a rehab facility for a couple of weeks, does it really matter where on earth it is?
  • At least he can have a few drinks on the plane and at the airport bar.
  • The whole rehab thing is a stunt. Honestly does anyone think he actually has alcohol addiction? That he's actually going to have withdrawls and things? Just because some people are idiots on the piss doesn't mean necessarily they have a problem with alcohol per se which is solved by rehab. I think the better option is time away from football and personal counselling rather than rehab counselling
