What's your biggest rip off story

I noticed today that the Commonwealth bank made an 11 billion $ profit over the last year. My wife heard of a story where a person went to borrow $500 for an emergency payment to a vet for an expense for her dog from one of those loan companies. My wife also took our Car to a Car dealer where we bought our car to replace a brake bulb.The brake bulb probably cost less than $10 and took less than 5 minutes to change it. She was quoted $69. After kicking up a stink they decided to charge her $5. I have also had some issues with very minor repairs ---My estimate would be less than $300 for parts and labor and was quoted a round $1300.

Then we have costs of petrol, Gas, and electricity,. Seems like some businesses have gone completely overboard.I think we need to have a NAME and SHAME movement. I don,t know the legality of doing something about doing something.

What's wrong with the CBA making an $11b profit. They are a commercial enterprise, that is literally why they exist.

In the case of the brake bulb, those little jobs annoy the hell out of mechanics. Even 5 minutes is a waste of time for them. I'd have charged you $169 and said if you don't like it, change the bloody thing yourself.
