TODD FEELS OUT EELS
TODD Carney has been so desperate to return to the NRL that he even rang a Parramatta Eels powerbroker and offered to play fullback for the rest of the year. The Eels declined and will go with Michael Gordon next season once he completes his deal at Cronulla. Carney made the phone call before he suffered a pec injury last weekend.

Mbye is under contract until the end of next season but has become one of the most sought-after players in the game. There is even talk he will start at halfback against St George Illawarra on Monday night ahead of Hodkinson.
The Dogs are hoping to re-sign Mbye in the next couple of weeks and at the same time hope Hodkinson’s exit works as smoothly as Michael Ennis’ departure last season.
(This one is confusing ???) WARDELL STAYING PUT
Another young gun staying put is Parramatta's Travis Turnbull. One of Queensland's best players in last month's under 16 Origin win against the Blues, Wardell has inked a deal which will keep him at the club until the end of 2018.
Two Sydney clubs, as well as the Broncos and Cowboys, were after his signature but the fullback/half decided to remain in blue and gold.
