I haven't seen any of their games but I read everywhere we had alot of promise. Wondering, those who have followed them closer than I, what's going on?

They don't have enough talented players, they have a few good young ones but the women's comp is top heavy with most of the really good players shared amongst about 3 teams.
To me it looks like the eels aren't prepared to spend the money that the broncos and roosters are and rely on junior talent until they get picked off by the power clubs.
As they don't earn as much they are permitted to get jobs given to them from the club.
Obviously it is open salary cap rorting and clubs willing to pay them more for simple jobs get all the talent

This is what Fitler alluded to. Johns said how is that far.
They do have some good players coming through. 1 girl scored a 100m try the other week.

This year will be the 8th year of the NRLW. Only 3 teams have won the comp, Broncos, Roosters and Newcastle, and it will stay that way, most of the rep players come from these teams. If it continues this way I think the competition will finish sooner rather than later. The NRL need to do something about the uneven distribution of talent.
There's only about 5 or 6 players that are up to this standard. Defensively they are very passive. Opposition teams make 70 to 80m consistently. There are players that miss up to 8 tackles a game.
Game management is poor. They get to the red zone have a beast like Matele on 1 wing and a kick threat in fay on the other, yet for some reason they keep passing to middles. When Rory Owens was playing very rarely got good ball. Especially in the red zone.
I dont watch much NRLW at all really, even though the product is so much better than it used to be. But i have listened to experts who practically say Brisbane and Sydney City are the it teams and every other teams make up numbers, talent probably is just not there yet.
The game is growing and teams will be too. Hopefully soon they can do a full season like the NRL and play beforehand etc. But the talent needs to grow before teams.
Look we don't spend big to get recognised stars, we go with a couple of Rep players and youngsters. We went good last year and pulled off some surprise wins under Steve Georgaliss.
This year they have been disapointing but last week they were beaten by roughly 16points. Rachel Pearson who's played Origin is a clever half-back and with her leadership we could have won that game against Sharks but most of her team-mates fail to hold onto her passes and let her down. "Our recruitment for 2005 was PJ Marsh, Glenn Morrison, Mark Riddell, Chad Robinson, Paul Stringer, Timana Tahu, Tim Smith. We also gave debuts to Joel Reddy and Brett Delaney."
"I agree. I don't really rate him much either. Very big but not very athletic. Lumbers around the field rather than moves. The coaches obviously see something I don't so am happy to trust their judgement "
"Normally I'd say we're gonna choke when the time comes, but I have feeling that with this squad we''ll be good. We have enough quality experience with the older guys to keep things cool in the heat of battle.

They desperately need a rebuild.
Seriously, I'd rather have the old Holden cup than watch wnrl. The only interest for myself is Tiana Penatani 🥰💖💖
haha True that

I like the NRLW BUT its a 2 team comp really Roosters and Broncos both teams dominate. The talent pool is there but its stacked in thos 2 teams
