Looking at the current game , i am curious to find out would rules have changed for 2011 ?

What rules would you change and why ?

1. My dummy half rule (remember ELIAS and Edge ), i would allow the Defensive side to rake for the ball to gain posession .

2. I would make the scrums real again ( This is also a test of physical fitness and caractor of a side ) ,make the hooker rake for the ball  & the ball must be fed in the centre of a scrum .

Its funny that eels won premierships when scrums were scrums !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Striping the ball should go back the way it was..if you can strip it go for it.
  • Well what would I Iike to see changed,

I agree with the striping rule should go, how are the refs supposed to make such a decision when it is so crap a rule, change it back to the way it was, the only time the ball should not go to the opposition team is when the ball is lost due to an infraction of the rules of play, eg high shot.

As for scrums what a joke they have become and in my opinion a waste of time either have them done correctly as ARU or get rid of them completely, less down time and more action I say.

The grounding of the ball is also a joke, a finger barely touching the ball as it falls to the ground is hardly having control of it.

This benefit of the doubt rule is also a sham, either see the ball put down or not. With the amount of cameras we have in the game nowadays if one of them can't show a shot of it being put down then odds are it doesn't deserve to be ruled a try.

The obstruction rule is also a minefield to judge on one occasion it is and then a similar episode in another game it isn't, I can't see anyway to fix this issue.

  • Agreed on Stripping rule get rid of it.

Get rid of scums we have no need for them the way they are and I don't really want to waste time on going back to a proper scrum just change it to a tap.

Grounding rule I am fine with.

Get proper time keeping the clock should stop on any penalties should stop while someone is going for a conversion etc we should see a full 80 mins of football

scrap golden point for anything apart from finals. have normal extra time during regular match if its a draw its a draw - in finals it should only be golden point after the first lot of extra time has been played.

  • yes you have to have downward pressure and control of the ball. Could also make it that the ball has to be touching the ground with downward pressure and control for 3 secs.
  • can only score a try if your HAND/ARM is touching the ball. get rid of the torso rule.
  • Bring back the old scrum' these days you might as well let the scrum feeder tap the ball wast of time.
  • hey i like the finals golden point rule
  • maybe 6 replacements ?
  • no , lol they won it when all the top sides were out of it . 2010 ? who wants to win a comp with everyone saying (not all teams competed )
  • The main concern I have with the grounding of the ball, is the rule that says you can ground the ball with your torso.
    That has to go.
For mine, you either ground the ball with a hand, or both, or it's not a try.
