I know I could be payed out for this statement but here goes…
We are a team of Footballers, supporters and coaching staff etc. We wear the mighty Blue and Gold and owned the 80’s. The emblem on the chest above the heart is an EEL. This EEL is often the forgotten soldier that runs out every game and has been a part of all tries we have ever scored.
WE NEED TO ESTABLISH THE POWER OF THE EEL AGAIN and revel in its might.
I was spearfishing the other day and performed a facelift on a Kingy (Shot 12kg kingfish in the face). The fight of the fish was astounding and respect gaining during the 5 minute tassel. I thought the tough part was done until I started the elongated cleaning process. I was attacked repetitively by the (electric) Eels as I grabbed for guts. They would even use the waves of the ocean to get closer to me and the guts on the rocks… willing to beach themselves for a feed. Stick in hand I smacked their snouts like an angry mother on naughty twins… this didn’t change their Frightening-Food-Finding behaviour as they became more possessed over the massing pile of guts. They are soldiers… they are dangerous and from my youth Abalone collecting days I know they have crazy teeth and don’t like you touching their Ab’s.
Weather fresh water or salt, colour or species, We must take more pride in the Eel and show our uniting emblem the respect it deserves.
Fu#k dogs, dragons, horses, tigers, cowboys and sharks... We are the mighty Eels!
Kneel for the Eel!
