What is BA trying to do?

I seriously don't get it . We're a team that carries 4 forwards on the bench every week, he seems to think Mau, Scott or Kenny Edwards can fill the utility role at a pinch. THEY CANT.The thing that concerns me most is he seems to have spent 3 seasons building a squad that wins on attitude , aggression and defensive line speed. There isn't much flair in the side , our wins are mostly built on aggressive defence and a solid attacking structure that can puncture shit defences but struggles against good ones. There seems to be a realisation that this style only gets us so far and we've bought in a more attacking half .... a half that goes against the style of play we've built the last 3 years. We seem to be a confused squad that lacks identity . We will give you a whole hearted effort but against the quality sides a lack of creativity hurts us as does the obvious weakness of playing so many people out of position . Injuries hurt but we've played plodding forwards in the backline every year in BAs tenure , it isn't a big deal to him . I like the bloke and he has a number of good qualities as a coach. Some of his tactics and recruitment leave me nervous.

  • While i agree with u BA had his side assembled  at the start of 2016 and everything went pear shaped. Give him to next season when hopefully we purchase a few more forwards and a hooker and we have already got a half.

  • But i agree we need to stop signing plodders although i thought vave and brown were good today, matagai was another story very ordinary.

  • Was an off game, just one of those days where nothing went our way.. However in saying that a couple of changes need to be made to add a new dimension to the team.. If BA picks the pretty much same team next week i dont think we will see a  win for a  good few weeks.

Need to take a page out of trent robinsons book and drop a few players, dropping mitchell looks like it has done wonders for him

  • That was well said Girth.

  • in all honesty compare the real cost of roosters side v ours add it up. It's probably a good game to compare what money does buy.
Not saying we couldn't have gone better but when an elite side plays perfectly well we need to be working as a team perfectly to even be competitive. Dose of luck wouldn't have hurt but even that went against us today.mistakes a plenty and that was possibly due to fatigue and pressure from them as well.
At this stage we are not in the same ballpark as we all saw. Still love em!

  • We need the stable strong smarts of Cooper Cronk for one or two seasons to lead our squad between the ears. We don't have such a player on our books. Bring Cronk to lead Norman, Gutho, Moses and co for one or two seasons and let them learn everything from Cronk before he retires. And we need to keep Semi. Roosters have big, fast, strong athletic wingers, centres and forwards and a spine full of gutsy strong pocket battleships. We are not far off but we are not yet in the same class. We still need to buy two big powerful mobile props and one winger and center emulating something similar to what the Roosters currently have in their outside backs and we have the cap space and lots of 2017 off contract players to make all this happen. We need a real tough smart and classy general. We currently do not have one.
