What is a Suitable Consequence For Jennings?

Will the NRL Integrity Unit become involved in the Michael Jennings incident? His club has already stood him down for one round. It's possible that this could be deemed sufficient, yet there is a history of the NRL insisting on stronger punishment (remember the Peats incident which did not involve any police action). So, what is your prediction? NSW Origin omission? Further suspension? Swept under the carpet?Obviously any charge is yet to be brought before court, so we are basing our conjecture on alleged offences.Surely we won't see any double standards in how the NRL deals with this?

  • What did he do? I didn't read the article.
    • He went out drinking, celebrating Origin late into the night. A friend of his then had a run on with the Police and a drunken Jennings stepped in. Jennings was arrested. That's the super brief version from what I read in the Telegraph.

  • Do we need to sit players down and tell them not to be so stupid? Or maybe a chaperone, to make sure players don't get themselves in a situation like this?

  • Doesn't sound very bad. Let's sign him.
    • It sounds like he was just being a drunken idiot and thinking he was a big man, after the Origin win.

  • I would feel the same way if it wasn't for the treatment Peats got for having an argument with a woman at a function.
    • And overseas, pfft....
  • A beat up, nothing serious, no assault on the police, just Jennings been a "hero". He will appear in court and no conviction will be recorded. Of course the NRL will make a mountain out of a mole hill.

  • Torture.

He should be stretched, whipped, needles under the finger nails, whipped again then burnt.
  • Nothing. Qld wouldn't rub out one of theirs in this situation.
