What is a one eyed eel?

The ten year old kid I saw in town on Sunday morning, fully kitted out in a complete eels uniform, cap and all, after one of our most embarrassing drubbings.... That is a one eyed eel.So many bloggers on this site are more like two faced eels. Watch when we chalk a few wins up, how the get rid of Burt, Hindy and SK brigade suddenly suddenly start spouting of how they predicted before SK took over that he would be a great coach and bla bla bla. When you google Parramatta Eels now, this site is on top of the list. That means all of us who contribute regularly have a responsibility to be one eyed eels. This does not mean that we cant profess our genius new game plans, or team lineups, etc, but whatever we do, do it one eyed.Parramatta right or wrongIf I were a young player, deciding which team would be good to play for, a look at this site would make me think, what would I want to put my body on the line for this fickle, whinging bunch. And as the main fan forum for the parramatta eels, any current player that does have a look is not really going to get much encouragement to lift there game. I am sure they are told to avoid sites like this like the plague, because so much negativity is going down here, if your fans are calling you F..n hopeless, is that an encouragement to work harder? NO the best motivation is to try and reward people that are loyal to and support you.So please, if any current players are looking at this site, overlook the dibble of the few bloggers, who obviously are over 35 and still live at home with their mums, and have nothing better to do than whinge and troll, and pick up on the positive vibes of the quieter majority...And try your best for a win for the ten year old kids still wearing the colors despite the situation at the moment...Paramatta for ever!!!!!

  • yes players understand us fans are fickle because we are proud supporters of our club. We may not bleed on the field like you do, but the pain we feel is real!!!

So fire up so were all proud of you and if that means rebelling against the game plan I say "rebel like teenagers" dont worry about words from the coach at half time....just have ur oranges on the field and dont go inside!!! You wouldnt be in the NRL if u had no talent, so chin up and show the world what u can do. Ur future depends on it. Not just now but your future income depends on your ability to win and make good plays. If you dont believe me just look at taylor from souths kick and chase on the weekend, bet that wasnt part of the coaches game plan.

The best advice i can give is if it feels right then do it.....The coach will look foolish if he drops a player for winning a game against his advice.... We the fans will howl like mother fxxxers if he tried.....so go show us stuff so the little kids believe in miracles and achieving things that were thought to be impossible!

  • Phew!! For a minute there Ross, I thought this blog was going to be rude and I would have to teach you about the birds and the bees.

    :cyclops:

    • LOL, Maybe  I should had said "overlook the dribble of the few bloggers, who obviously are over 35 and still live at home with their mums, and have nothing better to do than spend half their time whinging and trolling, and the other half playing with their puny pink one eyed eel watching porn"

  • I find these pom-pom waving blogs as useful as the invective you get from the likes of Sinbad and co.

    • Give me a 'B'. Gimme an 'O'. How about a 'U'...

No, I can't do it your name is too long, BM

  • Great Blog Ross. It sums up my current thoughts exactly.

So much negativity can never bring encouragement and passion which is what the team really needs right now.

    Get behind the team people!!

  • C'mon Phil, show us yer pom-poms!

  • ..."we pay our money and can support any way we like"

Does that mean that watching the games at home rather than being subjected to toxic presences such as yourself at the ground is 'supporting any way we like'?

You don't even know your own arguments!

  • Ross, with all due respect......I have been supporting Parra since I was about 6, back in 1982 and I have seen a few things happen in that time as a die-hard - and i mean die-hard - Parramatta supporter

I know how much I love the eels....i don't need to be told how to be an Eels fan. I can also think for myself and draw my own conclusions about my club and its performances - the club I have supported for almost 30 years

  • basically - i'm a realist. i gave up blind optimism (especially about sporting teams) after my teenage years
