He has turned a possible team into a probable team by one thing. That is defence. He has a team of some quality players and the rest are quality support players but he has moulded them into an efficient unit and one that I wish our new coach could replicate. Is it the Penrith defence of some five years ago or is it the Dog's present day fitness thing.I do not know but I am sure that is what we need.
I can find here how our forwards are to this or too that but I will always have Paulo for 1-2 years more on current form. Had anyone noticed that the amount of time Paulo cleans up in the ruck when he plays quicker opponents. He is on to everything when he plays the power game, and then it is his offloads as well. It does not matter if offloads cannot be converted to tries as the outside backs are not first grade material and you can thank management for that.
It does not matter who in the NRL we play there is always strong wingers and outstanding athleticism in the centres so why can't we find them. Parramatta have their pants pulled down to let this happen and that is why I refuse to pay the price of tickets for all of 2024 until they can be competitive.

They play for the jersey. He bought quality marquee players that are leaders and born winners. They care more about the process than the paychecks and the social media hits. It's not a boys club and bbq mates. They got there through hard work. Those that weren't on the bus got moved on. I think "Its not a boys club and bbq mates" says it all....BA over ten years instilled this in the team because for all his efforts he was never cut out for elite sports management. We are no left to undo this and create excellence and elite systems from scratch

They bought quality players who were good defenders and leaders rather than Manly reserve grade rejects and they didn't renew 30yos who were happy with the coach.

A purchased team. It's ok to buy opposition players but they literally just found away to convince a bunch of guns to take unders (or cheating the cap I guess) and come to a shit team. And now unsurprisingly based on that they are going better.
Defence, simple as that. If we had the defence that Canterbury have we are in the 8 too simple as that.
They have the second best defence and the second worse for missed tackles. Those stats tell you it's attitude and commitment.
100% their first focus was fixing up their junior system. Their juniors are doing great now. So they will have the Penrith like production system soon.
and yep, dogs have small middle forwards with leg speed who slide very well so it's hard to go around them. So you just smash them down the middle. It's exactly what roosters did last week and dogs could not handle it at all.
His players aren't constantly chasing the collision so they have more energy left to defend for 80mins.
Ciraldo has a lot of Penrith players in the side. That's what he has and nothing more. He has individual good players so I wouldn't credit him with being a exceptional coach. Brad Arthur could almost do the same with them players
