Amazing turnaround Panthers have made with Gould at the helm. This club will really shine over the next decade. Will be spoken of in the same way the great Jack Gibson is. we should send some one to spy on this club .We will really learn what it takes. Watch their local Juniors come to the fore in the future .

  • He brought Cleary, and Cleary brought a few good young Wariors with him, and together they moneyballed the team.

    • Ivan Cleary.
  • It's not rocket surgery. Competent, calm management, appoint decent well qualified and experienced staff who are also good people and let them do their jobs. We're headed in the same direction now.
    • rocket surgery???? do u mean rocket science? or brain surgery? haha

  • Some clubs go for the minor renovation to fix a club, he went the whole rebuild.
He wasn't afraid of upsetting fans or so called star players. Reputations mean nothing, the club comes before any single player or personality.
Gould prepared a blue print that other clubs should follow. He has shown the opposition management teams how to fix a poorly managed salary cap whilst undertaking in an intelligent recruitment drive. Its not rocket science no doubt, but it takes big brass balls to overhaul a squad like the Panthers did and not many if any have them at other clubs.
Penrith went knock down rebuild, we're going the new kitchen and bathroom path.
Will it work? I hope so.
    • I think we've gone the knock down re-build too. Our roster looks nothing like it did 2 years ago.

  • Panthers are still not in the clear, there is virtually no difference between them finishing top 4 and bottom 4.
    • Yeh, they are doing their job. What I meant is this has nothing to do with Gould and Cleary being saviors. They had an easy run played top 6 teams once each. Had no players in origin. They will get Towled up in either the preliminary or the final against south they are seriously a bottom 4 team playing finals football. Much like the roosters the year they lost to the dragons.

      Roosters played horrible against them
    • Roosters made 20 odd errors and at one stage were 1/7 in completed sets.

I am just annoyed how they are being put on a pedastle. Especially now their fans are now being talked up.. they fucking Avg 9k
  • Players players players & perhaps a sounding board for Cleary when coaching.
