WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN FOR PARRA 2018

Going back through the draw, there were 7 matches that we lost but scored the same number of tries.

Penrith (Twice) Sharks (Twice) Bulldogs,St George and Newcastle.

Whether it be our refusal to take early penalty shots at goal, bad kicking or not receiving the same penalties the opposition received .

I am not looking through rose coloured glasses, but this seven losses (14 points)  plus our current 10 would put us on 24 points.

Would we still be complaining about BA and our small pack.

Other than Semi it is nearly the same team as last year.

Winning gives you confidence and similarly losing you lose confidence.

I know there were some poor performances against Manly,Canberra and Newcastle and mediocre in others.

We can only hope we seek to improve between now and the rest of the season and blood  a couple more younger players in our club .

Continually bagging our side on this website will not achieve anything.

Hope we have a stronger 2019 by playing back at Parra instead of that shithole ANZ.

  • I think thats a fair and reasonable post Kerry but shouldn’t we have learnt and done what other teams were doing and take the 2 every time, if we had we wouldn’t be in the position for sure but we kept doing the same things week in week out along with the same mistakes and the same players making the same errors. I think this is where the frustration of most REASONABLE fans has pushed us to the dark side.

  • Bagging the side makes some fans feel better. That's achieves something. It makes them, albeit momentarily, feel like an all conquering expert on all things sport. That's not a bad thing.
  • Good points Kerry, and we have had some of the kicks from memory were relatively easy ones, good to see Moses kicking again, another good back up kicker for next year would be nice.

  • Not a very well thought out blog.
    Penrith Beat us 24 - 14
    Sharks won 14 - 4
    Penrith 12 - 6
    Dogs won 20- 12

So as you can see the margins were more than just a few goals. Even another try wouldn't have got us home - talk about clutching at straws.

In the remaining 3 games yes they were close, but even with the probability we could have snatched one or two out of the 3, Parramatta would still be around the bottom 3 on the ladder. We also won 3 games by 6 or less.

I think your drawing a very long bow their mate.

What you should also look at is how many games we won by very close margins in 2017 and what would have happened if the laws of probability didn't favor us.

Talk about unicorn dreaming saying we could have won all 7 games honestly.

Would be surprised if this dude wears Unicorn pyjamas to bed lol.

  • Our for and against tell more of the season story. It Proves parramatta should be nowhere near the top 8
  • We lost a lot of confidence in the first few rounds and never recovered. The Manly game especially ruined the team. Having said that’s it’s now obvious it not a good enough team to threaten for the comp, but we definitely could have made the 8 if the team played to it’s ability.
    • Don't disagree ME, the big loss to Manly really hurt after the failure against Penrith,

I just had a look at stats on the Dogs game, we were behind them in the possession rate by 56 to 44% dogs - Eels, yet we had a metres gain percentage in our favour of 2421 to 2197 for the dogs, completion rate of 81% compared to dogs 84%.   Even under Paranoia as ref we got an even number for a change.

It was not a great game spectacle wise but, when looking at that match we won, while being behind in certain areas, yet overcoming in others.  Doesn't make up for the losses but at least the team put in for the win.

And a bad win is better than any loss.

  • I still believe we have a better roster than the Dogs, Manly, Tigers, Knights and Titans plus when you consider how poorly the Cowboys have been this year we should at least be ahead of those 6 teams. We should at least be around where the Raiders are. Bad coaching has a lot to do with where we are.

    • If Bellamy coached me I’d improve too, but I’m 46 and overweight and never played the game after high school. Can’t see Storm buying French unless at a yard sale for a couple of bucks.
    • Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying BA doesn’t suck
