What could have been

Just finished watching the 2009 game v tigers on Fox. What a player Jarryd Hayne was and could have been if not for poor decisions.

  • Should never of left in 2014

  • He would have been unstoppable if he had to will to win like Billy Slater had.

  • Nope you've got to have competent decisions made by the front office which as we saw just wasn't there.

Professional sport starts off the field what you see in it is basically started from behind the scenes.

  • Hayne was definitely in the top 5 greatest Eels players and propably in the top 20 of Rugby League great. A real shame about what happened and I personally think he's innocent of the charges made against him. It's also a shame Daniel Anderson was booted as head coach as I'm more than confident he would have taken the Eels to a premiership title.

    • Anderson was heavily involved in the salary cap issues and was only recently allowed bacjk into the game Drooper.

      • Was Anderson actually found guilty of any indescrecions ? I mean seriously, Floppa how many coaches would you like to name that haven't committed any dubious endeavours and are still in the game today? I could name a few. They should never have got rid of Anderson in my opinion. It's interesting that the Roosters have taken Anderson board and Russell Crowe is very interested in putting Anderson in at the Rabbits. He will be back coaching sooner than you think Floppa

  • Biggest mistake Jarryd made professionally was staying with Parra he should of left a couple of years earlier for a decent team he wasted his best years being the best player in the worst team.

    • That's true Offie, if he had gone to Easts he could have done a Tedesco and they would talking about him being an immortal now.....Interesting I think Unlce Nick could have looked after any legal issues thatmay have arisen.

The point you raised was being answered in this club in what I call our "renaiisance" period but I am not sure how far the BA/JA thing has taken us back....context is though is we did make the GF last year and the front office is very solid, just not street smart yet!

The proof is in the eating and for that reason it is essential that Moses/Brown stay.

"No. He has had 11 years to show he is the right coach for us. We all know we can beat Penrith with BA and than lose to the wooden spooners the next week. So us beating Manly means shit about BA. Until we can win consistently than BA time is up "

"Ofahengaue has improved a lot. He puts in more effort than Matterson does that's for sure.
Keep Lussick for his defence? Did you watch the Dolphins game?
Lussick is a terrible defender and his service from dummy half is amateurish at best.
