I ami in two minds.Penrith appeared to be very impotent in attack. Penne Terrepo best forward on the field. Reid Mahoney had a soldi game. Both Jennings played well and I was very impressed with the strength shown by Sivio in scoring his try.
However I hate to guess what the penalty count was in our favour. Once the season begins will we once again refuse to take early penalty shots at ggoal when they are on offer.
Our boys were brillisnt tonight and even the late replacements went well. All of this without Jnr Paulo.
I hope our injuries are OK for first match. BA must get a good sleep tonight. Well done.

A fair bit to take out of both the trials
Moses still looks uncertain about his game aswell as his goal kicking.
We had enough 1st half ball to be 20 up at half time thats a worry as capitalizing on possession was a big issue last year.
Reed Mahoney and Dylan Brown are the future
I loved seeing Mau playing a bit as amiddle forward and doing the tough stuff i think that is a his role i hope he stays fit and the injury isn't to bad.
We will be better with junior in the team.
I still dont think we will be a top 8 team but we will be better.
To me the game was encouraging for the year ahead, I don't see us with the spoon again, maybe not the 8 but if the same effort and natural progression throughout the season and fair refereeing we wont be outside it by much. One thing especially in the first half that I did really pick up on was the way the team got back the ten at each play the ball, especially the first half.
I think all the forwards played well, Mahoney showed he can go 80, but backup needed, and saw none in the lower game reports, and not convinced with Will Smith though, he was ok but its not a good sign. We will need a huge improvement in the kicking dept as well, a killer for us last year as well. French did a few good things with the ball as well, on his limited time.
To me our best really was Peni, he is a walk in start in the team, Lane as well even with the bit I saw. Ma'u hopefully is not badly hurt either as he did well, new haircut suits him and adds anger to him (more) Brown and Moses teamed up well and should stay together, MM a but off in kicks though. Ray Stone looked ok in his short time as well.
Happy with the win, but the next round against Penrith will see them playing a different game and we cannot drop off from how the game was played tonight, that is the minimum we have to play at.
My thoughts are that each of our signings will be very good and that includes Sivo from Penrith. I haven’t been as excited about 5 or so signings and the difference they might make for at least 10 seasons.
Something missing from parras game was the control and patience. Yes the penalty count was huge but parra did very well to control the game hopefully something they continue to work on.
The control and patience thats been missing for 30 years ! We only get clumsy up the other end when the out the back crap doesnt work and we don't just play instinctively !
Yes fingers x hope injury not bad at all about time we win in Penrith
I think reed played great Terepo played good just hope we shut a lot off people up and win at least half ourgames this year and buy up big for 2020
And why was some off our players were not wearing numbers on there back
Brown looks better than Moses LOL
We were very solid, flattered by a ridiculous penalty count.
Moses is not a 7, has no pateince and still trys all the fancy plays
Mahoney and Brown look outstanding prospects, Brown didn't overplay his hand but put in a great rew kicks and mainly ran and looked very dangerous. He looks to have struck up a nice combo with Lane who looked very good but was underused the first half.
Nathan Brown overplayed his hand all night, hogged the ball and seemed to stifle the attack. Needs to be told he's a forward not a half.
Penrith were too poor to be true and won't be that bad in round 1.
I thought the same with Brown, he's been out a while and would be very rusty only was in contact training a week or so back. Lane I like.
I did like Timmies play he got good metres and was constantly pullling in 4 tacklers with only one of them peeling off, 3 were needed right up until he played the ball. He will have good final season I believe.
If they play to that standard as a bare minimum a good year is in front of us.
Penrith's disclipine & ball control was woeful
But we were very solid and controlled the game well
Don't dwell on the attack too much, 100% assure you we didnt play with a full attacking structure. That will be saved for RD1
Our forwards were very very solid and showed a lot of hunger, but yes Brown needs to do what he does best and thats dig in and eat metres. He will come good tho, first hit out for him
All of our recruits look the goods with Paulo still to come in.
Sold performace across the park, but I applaud the most our line speed, agression and the attitude towards our defence especially on our line
100% spot on we will need a similar performance come RD1, Penrith wont be that bad again.
