What are we "wait wait wait" waiting 4?

Sandow gets his 40/20 (we wont talk about the fact the boys could not get the friggen ball to him, I think it took six passes) the Ref's are going "wait for the whistle , wait wait wait wait wait".....FFS, if it was the seagles, the whistle would have went as Toovey passed the ball from the coaches box and the player was running onto to it to score.....this is just a joke.

This rule change is even stupider than the previous one, you watch when they call play on for a team when the defence is not set whilst making another team wait for the defence to be set, there is gonna be a riot....

  • Players may as well walk down after kicking a 40/20 now - the NRL has effectively made it a scrum restart... without the group hug & rest. Slower yes, but at least there should not be any repeats of the incident from the Dogs game.

  • Good on Chrissy, leaving nothing to chance and making doubly sure by asking the ref something along the lines of, "Is this the right spot though?"

  • Is there a time limit for opposition players to get on side, what is stopping them from slowing the restart to get a bit of a breather before their defensive set. At least with a scrum, time is off after we pack our side down, and if they stuff around too much, penalty.

  • 40/20 is the least if the NRL problems. It seems like the NRL and their refs are the only ones who still don't know what obstruction is. Got worse again in the Souths game. McQueen was taken out of play by the decoy runner. After passing to the winger he angles back in directly where Mcqeen woulda been. Ref didn't even go video ref and awarded try.
  • I know all of you will jump all over me for saying this but WHY kick a 40/20 and wait for the ref to blow he whistle the time he blow hes whistle the other team is wating for them i think have a scurm

    • Uhhh because you get 6 more tackles in the oppositions 20m.
That's a huge bonus and I hope Chrissy keeps it up.
    • If Paul meant why not just have a scrum instead of this new "whistle rule", then I agree. At least with a scrum the attacking team has the advantage of less players in the defensive line.
  • YOU hit the nail on the head  thats what i mean allright

"True as. A good sign to me was Hopgood Pensini both out and 2 players slotted in no drama. Tells me his system is starting to sink in and we will look more Melbourne like as time goes on. Just needs time to coach it all into them "
