What About Craig Wing?

Last time I heard he was playing Rugby Union in Japan. At the age of 31 he is at the back end of his career but he has always been a good player and has always looked deadly out of dummy-half. It would be great to see if we could lure him back to the NRL on a 1 or 2 year deal.

Like your style of thinking SE22! I started a blog a week ago about it.
    Craig Wing - Status?
Does anyone know of his status on Japan? How he is going, how long left?
  • Craig has been playing Fly-Half, or as we know it, Five-Eight. This is because there is no need for a fast, skillful hooker in Union. I still don't know how long is left on his contract but he has had approaches from the Japanese Rugby Board and The Phillippines Rugby Board to play for them because of his nationality. No word as to whether he has accepted either offers but hopefully he will look to finish his career with a final stint in Rugby League.
  • I don't know about the Philippines but I am pretty sure that Parramatta couldn't match the huge money offered by Japanese Rugby.
  • What about Cliify Lyons ??? LOL

I think you will find that the new parra recruitment is well and truly for youth and established (currently playing NRL) stars.

I doubt you will see us pick up anyone over 30 years of age again...

"Well he was offered a path at least, maybe not in the position he wanted but guarenteed FG week in week out. Penrith there was never certainty of starting straight away.
Not sure who offered more in financials though. "

"Are you talking about Julio Jones? It was sad seeing him decline the way he did. He signed with Tampa, who i support, it was a shame seeing a shell of his former HOF self."

"Hawkins can be freed up to have more space and time to do what he needs to do.
I cannot answer for EA, but if there is a kid to play 6 now the closest bet would be Papali'i or Volkman. In future Twidle or Talataina could be the future.

"Agreed. But that has to begin at an organisational level, not just the football department.
