From 20 - 0 down to win 24 - 20. What a win! what a comeback. Fui and Hayne saved our arses today! For 60 minutes we were disgraceful. For 20 Minutes we were on fire. I'm sure I'm not the only one having a heart attack at the end of that game.

I really hope this is a wake up call for Parra though. We really rely on our second phase play too much, It got us out of trouble today but it won't work every week. I'm sure Ando will have plenty to work on this week in the build up to the 3rd round Tigers Clash.

It was great to see The Eels not throw in the towel, I hope they take confidence from this and learn that they are never out of a game, even at 20 - 0.

I will give a wrap to Kris Keating, I know i'm quick to bash him when he's playing bad but he looked good playing hooker. I didn't get to see all the first half so not sure what happened with Matt Keating, But from what I saw today, Kris Keating looks to be the better hooker out of the two, He was far quicker out of dummy half and his service to the forwards was sharp in second half.

Well done Parra It was an ugly performance for the first 60, but when you put the make up on in the final 20 mins, You looked great!

Well Done Boys!

  • Yer agreed Kris keating was looking good out of dummy half, Hayne needs to stop going for 40/20s everytime and just get a descent kick away.
  • Thank God Tony Archer wasn't ref too, He would have called the passes at the end forward and cost us the game.
  • Today had me worried , it was the most disgusting opening hour to a game i've ever seen.

Atleast we know the boys have it in them and should really fire up.

Come on DA bring fui into the starting line up fool.

    BBB out
  • Kris was awesome today as was Hayne and Fui... But big props to Reddy he talked hard really impressed with them. We played crap in the first half and I can only hope we get better.... Wow, I still can not believe how bad we were and how lucky we were.....
  • Sorry meant tackled..
  • So stoked that we came away with the 2 points. Very lucky to get awarded that 2nd last try, the pass looked forward by about 3 metres to me. But thats the nature of the game, you get some decisions going your way some times, and other times Archer decides he hates your team and walks around with a big chip on his shoulder.

Bring on tigers, it will be interesting next Friday as these have to be the two most hot and cold teams in the first two rounds!

Fui Fui must really start next week. Great to see Tahu score and showing he still has good pace. Hayne and Moi Moi were just amazing in the last 30min of the game. They were both among the flatest in the first part of the game which goes to show what class acts they were to turn the game around.

Manly still made very easy yards right up the middle, to easy IMO.

Kicks from Manly placed between Hayne and Grothe still took a long time to be collected like last week.

Poore was a lot better than last week.

Just a few of my thoughts on the game. By all means tell me if you agree or think I am off the mark.

Most important thig is we got the points, and can move on from here. CHEERS.
  • every team has a game or 2 where they scrape home, today was ours

    We got lucky....
  • haha big black guy thats funny as
  • We are not going to be a consistent footy team with our current 6,7 and 9. Its as simple as that.

None of them have the game, especially the kicking game, to control the contest.
  • The thing most displeasing tho was the attack on manly's goal line. We were going from one side of the field to the other with no real variety. The was a time when we had about 4 sets in a row and came up with nothing! We need a pet play or something that we can turn to, much like the broncos have when run the second man play out the back to karmichael (or now corey norman) who can set up the try from there.
Happy with the defence even tho we let in 4 tries. It often took manly 4 sets on our line before we cracked. Of course the had enough possession in the first half to do so.
But yeah i just wish we could have some certain plays we could turn to when are a little bit lost in attack.
