What A Game

The boys played the best game I've seen all year. Their attack looked threatening and their defence solid. I think, with McGuire moving to 5/8 the defence looks alot more secure. Casey isn't a small guy and Robson can handle himself in defence. With McGuire's performance at 5/8 I don't see a spot in first grade for Morts anymore. McGuire was very sure of himself in attack and played with the confidence of a player who had played at 5/8 his entire career. The kicking game was outstanding with very little meters gained by the Sharks backs. The forwards did their work and lifted when Shack went off injured. Each player knew what they were doing and where they had to be positioned. The ultimate example of this was Luke Burt's first try. Lukey knew it was coming and McGuire knew what to do. Every player pulled their weight in attack and defence. Look at Horo's performance, he had no right to chase the bomb and out jump the Sharks' FB but he had a go and ended up scoring, or when he beat 2 players and straightened through a gap to set up another attacking raid, and Lasalo, when he ran the perfect line and set up Luke Burt for his second of the night.

  • What was good about horo and the bomb was the way he ran through watching the balk a d came in behind the fullback really good vision
  • Straight up, Morts hasn't shown a good game since 2009. I feel the only reason they're using him in 1st grade is to feel like they're getting their moneys worth, haha.
  • Well you don't normally see a forward chase a kick like that then out jump the fullback and score. It shows that Horo was prepared to do everything he could to help out his teammates, look at the replay and you'll see that there was barely another Parra player in sight.
