Were going into 2011 with $ 600,000 + under the cap

The title explains it all

There are two sides to this

The BAD side to this is that

  • We are going into next season with no expierenced halfback
  • Its frustrating that we could not get a major signings
  • Failed atempts include : Johnathan Thurston, Matt Orford, Quade Cooper, Cooper Cronk i wont dissapoint us all by naming everyone

On the other hand there is an up side

The GOOD side to this is that

  • We will have massive amounts of money to spend next year something like $ 700,000 i am guessing
  • We might be able to have a crack at Quade Cooper
  • We will easily be able to resign the likes of Joel Reddy and Fuifui Moimoi for 2012
  • Plus we will have plenty of money left over to sign off contract talent

Steve Kearney is sure going to have his work cut out for him !

Good luck to the boys in 2011 there going to need it

  • Quade Cooper is not worth it IMO, goes ok in Rugby but has no defence at all, won't cut it in league IMO.
  • You can teach defence and how can you say that wothout even seeing him play rugby league
  • for the money he wants isn't it better you buy someone who you know can play league?
We aren't AFL and just waste money on stunts.
  • AGREE matt he would cut it in league with a doubt his attacking game is great has good left right pass kicks the boor long and yeah cant TACKLE FOR SHIT. I think if we can sign him and gets a good pre season under his belt he will be fine. His still young and still has alot to learn. THIS KID could be a SUPERSTAR in our game if he made the switch to league. WE have the rite people at parra such as coach and trainers to help him become this player. I think we will see this happen in the next couple of years. Hill be in a parra jersey b4 we know it.
  • I'm not that concerned that we didn't buy a big name, yes Thurston or Cronk would have given us almost instant results, but with Kearney at the helm I have faith. It may take a year or two to come to fruition, but I believe the right man is on the case and he will have the answers.
  • I beleive that it will be Brad Murray wearing the number 7 jersey in 2011 athough the contenders include : Jeff Robson, Tom Humble, Cameron Bruest and Tk Amosa
  • No orford has not signed with the raiders i think he will stay in the UK because his asking price is to big. We will have to use our cap in moderation and use third party deal
  • so who will parra target for 2012?
  • Quade Cooper or Some other halfback a say tim moltzen wouldnt be a bad idea

"True in general. However, what about the Dolphins? Massive list of injured and unavailable players at the moment and still rolling. Depending on who may still become available for the remainder of season, could be a dark horse."
