Wenty update

Here's just a little update from what I saw yesterday out at ringrose park. The boys played out a 28 draw against Windsor. Led by mighty Craig trindall haha.Basiclly on our boys I didn't see too much. The only standouts to me in terms of players I could see making an impact in the nrl would be Anthony Mitchell and Lee tamaari from the dogs last year. Both really caused alot of problems for the wolves and mitchell was carving them up the middle all game. Those who have been calling for Tom humble in first grade. No way this year. Has potential but can in no way give more than our 1st grade playmakers can. Give him time it wnt happen this year I dnt think. Pele and filiga didn't play which was dissapointing as no other forwards or backs really impressed too much on the day. Unfortunately not even Brendon oake who was on named on the wentworthville bench. And lasalo.... Well a snail would get through more of a work rate atm. Windor were pretty good but lasalo was very dissapointing Stand out was actually the number 10 for Windsor. What an incredible game. He was playing 30 minute halves. He was offloading and putting peopleinto gapsand even scored a try off a kick chase?? Great effort for the day. Made daine Laurie look like a bumb.We got some solid players too look out for that need time to crack for first grade but the only one I can see this year that hasn't already played for the eels would be anthony Mitchell. Was a decent game all round from the boys. More entertaining was some of the Windsor fans hahaha But yeh, let's stop the calling for dropping our first graders coz from what I saw I dnt think anyone can come up from wenty and offer moregood to go out and watch but

  • I agree, Anthony Mitchell is a gun.
He would slot right into the 1st grade hooking role like Kingston did last year.
  • Did Jono Wright play? If he did, how did he go?
  • I didn't see this game, however have watched a couple of games this year. I agree that Anthony Mitchell has looked good in attack, He adds speed and creativity out of dummy half. something that would be very handy for the first grade side. His size and defence are a problem though and I think he may potentially be a liabilty in first grade because of this. In saying that would love to see him given an opportunity at some stage and see how he goes . He certainly looks like he could be a good one if he can work on his weaknesses.
Karl Filiga is the other player that has stood out for me.
    • i was also at the game and barra eel is right in every way. Taamari was by far thd outstanding forward. When you watch nsw cup, players that belong in first grade tend to really stand out, and lee teemari needs to be looked at if we have issues with depth through injuries. Mitchell carved em up and will get a go eventually, but not yet. He needs to fill into his body more if he's gona make 45 tackles a match in firstgrade. The speed of nsw cup worries me a bit, mk is struggling a little in first grade but i reckon he wouldve carved up the game i saw, except you know mk can make 45 tackles in firstgrade as can robbo. Mitchell's a goody though. Theres been a bit a talk bout algood, well he doesnt even start when oake plays but he has potential. Not for at least two years though. He'll get smashed. Wright's still lookin the goods, lasalo can go and get fucked, and humble? DEFINATELY not ready for first grade. He couldnt make any impact and looked like nsw cup is where his ability adheres to at the moment. He's a ballrunner, but doesnt run the side and has no kicking game. Sniffin out a try is his biggest gift so over time, yeah, but NOT yet. Not even close. Mitchell to get a crack first definately. One last time, LASALO! Fuk me. Absolute crap
