Wenty stats

So the player stats have been released for Wenty's rd 1 clash and they surprising and disappoiting. On the surprising side is Andrew Davey, QLD cup stats were bad with an average of 70m running a game being lackluster, however he had a 130m 31 tackles 1 linebreak performance which is impressive for a second rower, might have a bit of confidence himself since being contracted. Parry was another with 110m running.

However on the other side, Kaufusi in 54 mins had only 59m running which is quite disappointing with someone with so much raps on him, though couldve been a heavy defensive game as he did have 31 tackles. But the main disappointment was Bevan French, 27 mins, 2 tackles and 3 missed, with 0!!!!! metres running, you heard that right, a fullback having ZERO running metres in 30 mins of a game. leads to attitude and immaturity, to which hurts me as i love French and been a defender of his, but this is the type of stats that deserves for him to be released and give Parry a place in our squad over him. Have Will Smith as a back up fullback, it's over.

  • On top of all that for French he’s incredibly injury prone. Good lord

    • I think he has lost a lot of pace since the injury, as well as, he has lost side lateral movement.

  • Ohhhh French,

its no secret he has been told to look elsewhere, just as much as he has been told he is at the bottom of our list to play 1st grade, one would think he would knuckle down and work on his game, but it appears and I hope not, that he is spitting his dummy.

Playing like he has recently certainly won't get him back into Parras 1st grade run on side "unless we suffer multiple , multiple injuries" and playing like he is wont win him a contract at other clubs.

Please Bevan don't become a Woulda, Shoulda, Coulda player that regrets not knuckling down and taking his NRL chances, get fit, get motivated and throw your carefree ragdoll image aside.

    Goodluck.

  • Wow, That is not what you would expect from French. He had some pretty ordinary stats last season but 0 metres is devistating. Come on Bev, you are still young & the talent was there for all to see a couple of seasons ago but no one can expect a start in any team let alone the NRL squad with those stats. He needs to use this season to get his body right & certainly needs an attitude adjustment if that is how he is playing. I thought in his first year playing on the wing he used his speed as that was his super power but his game is no where near what it was. The kick through for a flying French will only work for a short time until other teams work it out so he should of tried to make that position his own developing his game as a winger, however it appears that he want's fullback or nothing. Sadly that will lead to nothing.

  • And yet some dopes here want French at fullback ahead of Gutho in 1st grade

  • Lock up Parry

    Manly are hunting

  • No surprise with French, it's not the 1st time we have seen him put in such an effort. I think when you put together his lack of size and now lack of confidence, you have a player that can't do anything. His size really limits him chiming in doing any of the tough work, i know some people get sick of hearing it but he really does get dominated. The only thing he does well is support play, but with lack of confidence he ain't there in the right place at the right time sniffing out the opportunities like before. Sure he can fly after a kick/through a gap someone creates/zoom off after an offload - but it all revolves around getting him the ball untouched to do anything.

  • My faith in French was shot after the Raiders games at Gio last year when he had similar stats to the Wenty game.

He was being crucified and then someone came out saying he was playing injured or felt crook which made my opinion of him worse. If you're not well, tell the coach. Don't let down your team mates to do your work for you.

I don't think he has the bottle nor physical or mental strength to play NRL. You've gotta be brave to play league.

    • While you are correct

We don't know if maybe he did tell BA and was told to play maybe because they didn't have cover as they may have only brought 19 or 20 players down to Canberra
