A bog average coach who would be flat out getting a job as a brickies labourer & an average first grader who "excels at training" but has had more ACL injuries than good back to back performances getting shiney new contracts when there was zero interest from any other clubs.
Oh the kicker... Gutho negotiated a pay increase for this year after playing 4 solid games out of 9 along with his new 3 year $2M deal. BA gets a 2 year extension on the same marquee coaching dollars he was already on usually reserved for the elite coaches (who have achieved something... anything FFS) Who's resumes dont include wooden spoons and records consistently smashed for points conceded in games over the past 6 years.
Great job by both of their managers to convince the decision makers at the eels to hit the panic button and sign them up..... before they were going nowhere!
BA should be coaching his son at the Rouse Hill Rhinos and Gutho playing 1st grade on no more than $400k a year on a 2 year deal. A fullback I forsee moving to the centres in the near future through lack of pace if he can stay injury free.
Only at the Eels could these two be classed as marquee signings, must haves & get paid a "kings" randsom.

The club never used to be a failure! When Jack Gibson coached it wasn't a failure. When Brian Smith coached it wasn't a failure. Yet since then apart from Daniel Anderson taking the Eels to a grand final in 2009 it's been a constant failure especially the last 5-6 years. Hopefully after 2021 there might be success again.

Guys, teams that WIN premierships usually have the same spine for a few seasons. You know? so they can gel with one another and create enthusiastic combinations? It's crucial that our team sticks with our spine for years to come. That will develop into a success. I'm not who our 5/8 will be, hopefully Dylan Brown comes back healthy. We're definitely missing him right now.
Resigning Gutho was very important for our club. He's young, and is definitely captain material. I'm also very happy we've stuck with BA. He's gone through a lot of shit at this club. You guys troll on this site, and consider yourself all experts but you're really not. You don't know what goes on behind the scenes. There's no unrest at our club, fights, players calling out the coach. They all respect him, and it isn't his job to go into the market and recruit players. That's why we have a GM, who along with our board, has endorsed BA. Let the professionals do that they're paid to do, shut up, and enjoy our brand of football.
