Well over $2M invested in our halves. Reallly?

I think the title says it all. Yet again our Club shows how inept they are with regards to recruitment and retention.  Dylan Brown is a five game a year myth, always has been, and Mitchell Moses is litle more than the same. Yet we signed the lazy myth to a multi year deal and enter in bidding war for Moses.  As a result, we pay over for these two disinterested and lazy clowns, and as a result have potentially the weakest defensive and a very questionable backline.    Tell me more than five times when this dope of a coach has actually dropped a player based on performance over ten years?.  There is a massive difference between loyalty and performance based responses to players. Matto being allowed to take a suspension over a fine says it all.  Club remains being run by clowns!

Rabble, yet again and R& R shows it every year!

  • Dylan Brown - 2 try assists, 2 LB assists, 2 offloads, 170 running metres, 23 tackles (zero missed) one error.
He was awful in round 1 for sure, but you feel he was 'lazy' tonight?

Our errors, compounded with conceding penalties, and an inability to defend either is costing us games, not Dylan Brown.

We can't concede 34 points & expect to win games.

    • So again, where are we endlessly leaking points and why?

      • 'Why' is a very good question, but our completion rate, especially in a 30degree game, has to be part of the reason?

The counter argument to any excuses though is we've seen this time & time again, regardless of the cavalry, regardless of the heat, even regardless of our completion rate.

So, is it systematic? Communication? Trust? New combinations? A mix of all the above?

Whatever the underlying issue, 34 points conceded is a terrible indication of where we are mentally & structurally with our season on the line tonight / next two weeks.

        • To me its the coach and his systems.

They don't work and the boys need a new set of eyes and ideas.

BA was part of the Kearney years too - remember that..

          • Frank, I agree that it has to at least be a contributing factor at the very least.

When you look at all the evidence we have of being 'overlapped' down either side, it's hard to believe it's purely lazy inside defenders & edges making poor decisions everytime.

          • Yeah, and both teams completion rate was ordinary, as was each sides defence.

I think you're best served reading the whole post again also, especially the part where I said 'the counter argument to any excuse'.

      • We were always going to leak a lot of points with Hodgson. The hooker and lock should be the hardest workers in the team. Watch how slow he reacts out of marker, watch how long he takes to get back in position after kicks. We have massive props, he was always the wrong hooker.

Hodgson also has missed around 1 in 10 tackle throughout his career.( Mahoney has missed 1 in 15)

All I can say is get used to it until the bald merkin is gone

        • Good post, Coryn.

        • There are no two starting props that run as many metres as ours but that comes at a cost defensively.

Most front rowers will make on average  at least 1 tackle every 1and a half mins. JP and RCG will make 1 about every 2 mind, and that's regardless of the minutes they play . When we had Reed working with either Brown or Stone in 2020 our D was third. When Brown started getting less minutes our D dropped. It dropped again last year without both NB and RS

JP and RCG don't put pressure from the inside and so our hooker and lock have to pick up the slack

To buy a 9 who is not a defensive beast and is now old and slow is the dumbest move the club has made since Hayne in 2018

          • You and Coryn our 100% right. Paulo and RCG just job when teams spread. We need the line speed from the inside. And its also why JH should only be playing 60 minutes a game.
