Well done Brad Arthur

I want to congratulate the coach for a tremendous role in the win.

There was a game plan, there was great defence, he had the boys motivated from the start.

Under great adversity he adapted, the forwards looked fresh at the 80th minute.

It's easy to bag a guy after a loss, but give credit where it is due

  • Still struggling to understand why he persists with Hodgson for so many minutes, the injection of Hands changes the team dynamic immediately with a noticeable lift in ruck speed and team cohesion.

    • The only knock on Hodgson last night would be when we offload he is slow to react and at times doesn't know how to react.

Seems he hates eyes up footy at times.

    • Hodgson was good last night

  • Yep, massive congrats to BA for breaking this hoodoo.

From the start of the season, we knew this round was huge for BA & the players mentally. We had to find a way to beat the Rabbits this year. Their confidence should be sky high but I liked how they didn't overdo the celebrations at the 80th. There's a long way to go.

Also, I'm not sure we've ever seen BA use the media to throw an opposition before. He said we'd turn the game into a 'dog fight', but, the team were clearly told to take their shot from the first whistle.

Moses down that short side & offloads from the first few minutes of the game, and a season high 9 offloads at halftime, showed the game plan was far from 'competing high'.

When our halves & players like Carty, have the time & space created from winning the middle & 2nd phase, they are so dangerous & we look a point of difference in this comp.

Our defence also looked really cohesive & confident, not relying on last ditch scramble to save points, that was very pleasing to see, and honestly, didn't think we had that in us at this stage.

Challenge might be doing it all again next week before the bye, but have to enjoy that one for now.

  • Congrats BA. First to put my hands up & say he was out of idea's . But he's put egg on my face this week. Let's hope this is the start of a massive revival. Massive game next week with both big boys out & possibly matto. Still don't understand the Hodgson hate, he's getting better and better for mine every week. Hands is getting moulded into the role week by week, putting him on longer will only wear the kid out. He's playing the perfect role at the moment

    • Hodgson despite having a bad start has played two good games in a row now. He's pressure on ilias  forced him to kick out on the full and changed the game in our favour. I was not a fan of his for most of this year but that act of desperation last night seems to be overlooked by many.

      • Absolutely Spot on turned the momentum out way

      • People forget he's come off 2 or 3 season ending injuries at the raiders, it was going to take time 2 see the best of him & the good thing for us is he hasn't played his best. Hodgson digs into the defensive line, which creates space when he lets the ball go, for our outside back & halves. In saying that I love hands and what he brings to the team. He's going to be better than Reed I feel. In the mould of Harry Grant I think, hence letting Reed go wasn't such a bad thing for the amount of money we were going to have to pay to keep him

      • I don't think Hodgson was ever as bad a player as some would have you believe. He was obviously tiring early , and I still don't  get why the coach insists on playing him longer than needed. But due to our shocking start to the season and Jake not being in the team people were looking for that whipping boy to blame rather than beleive the big guns aren't pulling their weight..
Hodgson with the correct game time is very effective. He has that bit of niggle and mongrel in him we've lacked for decades. He just can't keep up.

last night was an example of what happens when the top end of the budget earn their keep.

  • 100% from the coach to the team well done. I hope they realise just how awesome they looked and played last night.
