Bailey Simonsson for the GF

116 meters, 85% success tackle efficiency, 5 tackle breaks, 14 runs. Some very good stats for a guy who is unaccustomed to the centre position. Excellent job Bailey.

Most impressive part was the way Bailey rucked it out under extreme pressure and made good meters with some great footwork. He was actually much better than Opacic in that regard Opacic very rarely makes 100m +

And whilst one game doesn't make a player,  centre could be his future position.  He played plenty of centre in his junior years for Newington college - There's a highlights package on YouTube where he was unstoppable.

I'd be keeping Simonsson for the GF regardless of Opacic's availability. Its a tough one because defensively opa has been top notch

GO BOYS !! YES.

  • I think opiciac will get the nod if fit but I now have faith in Bailey if he's called in

  • I was thinking the same, his defence and communication was pretty good too

    • One thing , Opacic's defense is first rate undoubtedly. BA will probably go with him if he can prove his fitness.  But rucking it out isn't his strength.  In the long run I feel Bailey will be a better centre, but because of inexperience ba will opt will Oppo.

    • Yes, it is the only responsible thing to do. That said  a hamstring is a difficult injury to judge until  you actually get on the field and test it in match conditions. Its an oxymoron that JA be replaced on the bench, the same as Cartwright who showed last night he is just not intelligent to read a game of fiootball from a perspective of his own involvement.

      • I think Cartwright was pulled off straight away after he threw that ball. Rocks and diamonds always

    • JA not on the bench in a Grand Final won't happen

    • Yep completely agree brissy that opa has to come back in and we really should put Bailey on the bench but unfortunately we know that won't happen even if ja doesn't come on at all ba will still pick him.

  • i think he stays. Cleary won't miss. Cleary will bomb to Waqa. With Simonsson we have a guy that can catch. As others have said on this site, we can swap Waqa and Simosson on the wing of Waqa is struggling under the high ball.

    • Why are you saying Cleary will bomb .  Ihave a funny feeling we may just be playing souths .  In saying that if Opi is okay id go with him . But Bailey would  be okay as well . One thing that i recon will happen is BA wont drop JA off the bench . You can bet your little Black Ducks on that and in my humble opinion that will be a mistake

      • everyone is assuming Panthers, dont write of Souths....
