Welfare check

So everyone has had time to digest the result and asses the last 2 weeks.

How are feeling?

Personally I know the opening 2 weeks doesn't decide the season but the 1st 6 does I had the first 2 games as our most likely wins out of the tough start I know see the potential of a 0-6 start.

Dylan Brown's form is a concern I put alot of that down to Lane being injured Lane puts doubt in the defence you can't stand back on him Cartwright doesn't put that doubt

Outside backs remain a issue  especially depth with Russell's injury the length is unconfirmed but he was shaping up as a break out player I said it before Opiciac was huge loss the solid dependable centre/winger is worth their weight in gold.

Hodgson still shows he's a quality player maybe not the player he was but I question the logic in having him play the full 80 that been said I see no impact bench/utility options within the club.

Someone said yesterday we just aren't evolving our game is the same but the players aren't the same.

Overall I have huge concerns about this season it just seems to have so many early warning signs.

  • I think we can beat manly next week. In saying that manly are the one team that love to shift outwide to Tommy turbo, knowing our edges are so weak

    • Manly look a whole lot diffrent this year Seibold seems to changed the culture and the style I'm worried we will get flogged the Sharks exposed our lack of mobility and speed across the park

  • Still not sure how to feel. I don't think we played badly in both games. I saw some good footy and good intent. I'm impressed with some of our new players. Just think we're a little rusty.

That's how I'm feeling now. Might have different feelings in a few weeks.

  • Same issues as last few seasons. There is no future with BA.

    • BA is shit!! Let it go

  • There's lots of Chicken Little's on this site. "The sky is falling, the sky is falling".

    • Sky's definitely not falling, Eels chances of playing finals footy is. Are we  15th on the ladder.

      • Haha yes we're 15th. We're also 2 wins away from being first on the ladder. It's round 2 mate.

        • We won't go up much higher throughout the season Muttman.  Bottom 6 is absolutely certain.  If you can't see the light by now you need to open your eyes Muttman

Our outside backs are slow and predictable,  our bench is a mish mash unwanted players, and our top development prospect is slow Jake.  The fall will be hard so we need to be realists

          • RL games are won by middle forwards. No chance with JP RCG, Matto and Hopgood.

Losing Reed was always going to hurt us and JH was never the answer. BA needs to make a few adjustments at dummy half for the team to go well

A mate of mine took an old shield for an aged effect, painted this and gifted it to me today. A great memory from a great time in Eels history. Thought I would share.
