We Won - Let's Enjoy It!

Last night's game was not pretty. The team dished up about 40 minutes of rubbish. We can bleat on here about various aspects of our performance, or indeed players, that may have caused this. I'll let the coaching staff worry about that. Right now, as a Parra fan, I intend focussing on the positive. Primarily that means enjoying the win and celebrating the positive aspects.Rare luck aside, the most positive aspect of our performance was our ability to remain in the contest when our performance was way off where it needed to be. In doing so we were able to re-focus our attention on where we needed our play to be directed, namely our left edge.Obviously we have to throw shots all over the park at our opposition. Failure to do so makes the team more predictable and our left side less effective. Last night took the team a little longer to send the play in that direction, but when it did the points flowed. For the coaches and players, 2 weeks of recovery and preparation awaits. For us as fans, we get to await a further 2 points and then an appointment with the arch enemy. This 5 week period will result in ten competition points. What's not to enjoy about that!PS - it was great to celebrate last nights win at ANZ with a bunch of lunatics.

  • I agree a win is a win. We have played a lot better games this year and lost. In the end the 2 points is all that matters.
  • No matter how ugly or poor our performance, it sure beats a loss!
  • Well said champion. We can not pick all day but we won. And after next week we are on 18 points and the dream is still alive boys.......
  • i Agree - lets enjoy the win. There's nothing wrong with winning ugly. The penalty count did help a little

  • The important thing about winning is the confidence that the team can build from it. As stated, we'll be on 18 points after next week. I'd rather be there than where we were 5 weeks ago.
    • Totally agree. It almost looked like they already had their minds on the doggies game last night. I wish it was at parra stadium though.
  • Good game by our guys. If you have a look at Taylor interview he was very happy with the way the tigers played. We played a team up for the contest. First 3 in  row for 5 years.

    • I think that the Tigers played a real up tempo game. They pushed the boundaries in defence. They tried to niggle and had great line speed, perhaps too great! As for Taylor, he would be under some pressure. Arguably, they are going backwards as a team, considering their much vaunted talent. They were missing some stars last night but they have struggled this year. Their performance against Souths was what they should be achieving.

    • Although his captaincy skills are often questioned, I believe Mannah to be in career best form. He really does the hard yards and is playing tough. Really tough. He will go close to our player of the year.
    • His last 2 months of football have been inspirational. couldn't think of a more deserving player to score a try.
that was a great moment when he crossed the line for the first try was right down in front of me bloody great view.
