Chris Hutchinson, the coach that has delivered Parramatta's only recent premierships when he took our Harold Matthews to back-to-back premierships and this year won the National Title has resigned from Parramatta and taken up the head coach role at Mounties Ron Massey Cup side.
Mounties announced the news on their Facebook page today.
ANNOUNCEMENT: Mounties RLFC is pleased to announce the signing of Chris Hutchinson as coach of Mounties Ron Massey Cup squad.
Chris comes with a wealth of experience having coached Harold Matthews Cup with the Parramatta Eels for the past few seasons winning back to back titles as well as winning the national club championship in 2013 under the guidance of current Raiders coach Ricky Stuart.
Chris has hit the ground running at Mounties with the squad already responding to his style of coaching during the pre-season.
We wish Chris all the best in 2014 and he can be assured the club will be right behind him all the way.
Chris had been offered an assistant role with the NYC side, but given his success as a head coach I can certainly understand why he wanted to stay in a head coach role and I'm disappointed that between Parra and Wenty we couldn't come up with a position that would have kept him at the club. I'm probably biased because I've known Chris for a long time, but I'm a very strong believer when you have someone who is winning you keep progressing them until they hit their plateau, because you never know how far they can take it.
