' We underachieved in 2020- - Ferguson

Caught a clip of him on ch9 news saying we underachieved as a team.

Then in typical Fergy fashion he explained himself by saying even though we finished 3rd .. we werent a top 3 team with rubbish defence.

I see the contridiction but i'm also pleased someone in our club came out and said it. I've heard O'Neill say we moved forward last year because our semi loss against Melbourne in 2020 wasn't as bad as the one in 2019 and show's how far we've come in 12 months... I've heard BA crap on about how we stopped having 1 good week and 1 bad week and we finished as a top 4 defensive team which was our goal... It's all shit. Our defence the second half of the season was diabolical and our attack joined it.

We have the squad to make a deep run in 2021.. but the first step is to look at how far we have to improve and not think we were close in 2020. Coz we weren't.

  • So is Fergo a hater and not a true fan as well??

No wonder they are punting him yoiu can't have common sense around the club obviously........

    • Hahah absolutely! There's some people in serious denial.

It's a huge year for BA. The squad is ready for a prelim final season at a minimum. Theres a couple of holes in the roster but overall its a better squad than at least 10 of them on paper.

    • I think he is a truer fan than some of the Trolls we have had on here lately AL.

You can't fool me Alan, I know deep down you love Parramatta and whilst you knock anyone that shows a sign of "softness" you really are a big marshmellow dying to be an adopted son of BA and a brother to Jake.

You will give anything to sit at that dining table and discuss tactics and be accepted into the inner circle. Luckily BA has no daughters because I know he can't stand incest.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if we had a lean season and missed the 8.

A lot of things went our way last year like playing at home, no travelling, easy draw etc.

We had a fairly good run injury wise too.

I don't like the fact that last season we couldn't put teams away, we never really belted any teams like good teams do in the backend of the season.

    It was an inflated season.

    • Injuries towards the back end of 2020 seriously affected the Eels run into the finals and had a lot to do with the Eels not going further in my opinion.

      • Rubbish Monto

We literally hit the wall after round 10 and couldn't score points to save our lives

We we're lucky to have banked as many as we did early in the season

I don't know if we will be given that opportunity again given the toughness of this years draw but let's wait and see I guess.

        • I will agree to disagree Frank. There were injuries to key players throughout the season Frank not just at the back end. Round 11 had numerous key players carrying injuries including Sivo, Moses, Ferguson, N.Brown to name a few. However I will agree to disagree.

          • Sivo is crap can only score 10 meters out.

Moses is crap and when we lost him we were doing better..

Ferguson is past his age it was round 17 when he scored his 1st try.LOL

N.Brown was a loss to the team....

1 out of 4 not bad...

            • 1) Moses isn't crap

              2) Agree Ferguson is past it.

              3) Sivo was better in 2019 than in 2020

              4) Nathan Brown was a huge loss when injured.

              5) Dylan Brown injury was a loss

              6) There were numerous other players carrying injuries.

              • 1) Moses is better than crap but not in the top 10 halves when under pressure

                2) Fergo is NOT past it

                3) So was Eric the Eel

                4 & 5) Agree

                6) No shit Sherlock.

The way you tell the story it is a bloody shame we were the ONLY team to have suffered such hurdles.
