We really need to keep Corey Norman

It's going to be a major struggle to keep Corey Norman.

He wants to play 5/8 and I don't see how we can fit him in apart from fullback.

In my opinion his form is better than Foran at the moment. Obviously Foran has had injury but I really think BA really needs to sell Corey a role that he'll be happy with in 2016 otherwise I think we'll regret losing him to the Titans.

  • What sort of roll do you think will keep Corey at the Eels?

I suspect they'll need to do better than just a salad roll (even if it's one of those foot long Subway ones).

Maybe free sausage rolls till the end of his contract would encourage Corey to stay...
  • We really need to keep Gower forever.
  • And start him more often and let tepai come on as a power play. Will help with his shoulder till surgery.
  • Simple solution, keep Norman at 6, play Foran at 7. I like Chrissy, but id keep Norman over Sandow in a heartbeat.
    • I know Sandow played good on Friday but it's only ever one great game for every three or four with him. At most he is half and half.

We tried the Sandow Project for the past four years and it hasn't seemed to work. Norman played alright last year, his first with a new team and half pairing after playing fullback for so long at Brisbane. Now that he has played a full year with us at 5/8 he is starting to come good.

I can't see us not re-signing Sandow, unfortunately, but i wish we would let someone like Sharks on Cowboys take him and not only would we have some money to play with but we would also have a more structured halves pairing. One more like Rabbitohs and Roosters.

    • Totally agree paynted! We need a halfback that plays 80 minutes if consistent footy week-in, week-out. Unfortunately Sandow doesn't. And at 26, I don't ever see that changing. Norman is only 23 and is continuing to get better.
    • DALLY M 2014

      32 Johnathan Thurston
      32 Jarryd Hayne
      29 Sam Burgess
      28 Gareth Widdop
      28 Ben Hunt
      23 Daly Cherry-Evans
      19 Cameron Smith
      19 Kieran Foran
      19 Chris Sandow

      AND

Chris Sandow - 2014 Ken Thornett Medal Winner

....A few judges thought he had a pretty good, consistent year last year

    • So what happened to our x factor in attack? This attack would be boring and predictable imo.

  • norman picked up his act when rumours started about foran. he should of played like this last year!!!!!. BA doesnt believe he can win a premiership with norman so he has to go or play a different position.

    • Norman 'picked up his act' when he recovered from his knee injury.
