We're 3 from 3, we just beat the Cowboys 12-7.

Great news, the Mighty Eels have maintained their perfect start to the season with a scracthy but hard earned win 12-7 against the NQ Cowboys in front of a sellout crowd in Townsville. The game looked all but lost after Scott Drinkwater broke the deadlock in the 71st minute, howver, Ray Stone filling in for the injured Reed Mahoney barged over for a game winning try from close range in the 78th minute.

The result was enough for the Eels to retain top spot on for and against for at least 24 hours pending tomorrow matches.

The other results saw the Raiders beat the Dragons 10-0 in the nations capital, Manly defeat the hapless Warriors 30-24 at Brookie, the Rabbitohs over the Roosters 30-18, in which Latrell Mitchell scored a length of the field try against his former club, the Sharks kept a clean sheet against the previously undefeated Knights 24-0 at Kogarah whilst the Melbourne Storm thumped the upstart Panthers 36-12 at AAMI Park.

  • I thought this whole corona virus and NRL shutdown was a bad dream and reading this I thought the dream was finally over and normality had returned.  Then I read the Latrell Mitchell try bit.  No way the lazy fuck outrunning anyone in current form was real so covid19 is real, the season is over and you overplayed your hand mentioning latrell.

  • Not sure if anyone is aware of this, but these results are from the website Sportingnews that is running a simulated season on NRL 2020. You can actually watch the games on their YouTube channel. You can even watch them streaming “live”.

The funny thing is that even though it was a computer game sim, I was riding the result like it was an actual game !!!

    • Yes thanks Brett . I still wish to complain that the Cowboys try was from a forward pass lol .

      • Only by about a metre and a half, lol

  • Well the Dogs just beat the Tigers 24-22. The Broncos & Titans are up in about 10 minutes.

As for Papalii, he will still be at the club in 2027. Moses will probably miss half the year so Papalii will get plenty of game time."
