Guys, be fair dinkum here. DA had nothing to offer. We only made the GF last year cause of Hayne and our great defence.

Nothing changed this year. We had no set plays. Inside opposition 20 we were lost. Our kicking game was the worst I've ever seen. How many times did we fail to find touch.

Change is needed and I'll be there next year supporting whether it's Stuart or Kearney.

DA is a nice bloke but nice blokes don't take the prom queen home. We need a dictator, a leader.

Looking back at this year, the defence was pretty good. I think that with a few minor adjustments in attitude and working on some set moves we can be aforce again.

I support the change and the current board for having the balls to do what they have done.

Osborne may be seen as an idiot, but trust me he is far from that. He wants success badly. He came to the club and cleaned up alot of mess. Yes, he sacked alot of people but who cares it's a business.

The old strategy wasn't working as we haven't won a comp in decades and we were struggling financially. At one stage a merger was on the cards.

Let the boss do his job I say.

  • I AGREE THE NEW COACH AND THE CURRENT BOARD HAVE MY FULL SUPPORT AND VOTE. THE ONLY WAY IS UP. PARRAPOWER
  • Agree 100%
  • People are scared of change. This will be good.

Let's put it this way - winning the spoon and 12th are one in the same so we can't do worse than this year. But with ando, I don't know that we can do much better
  • I'm sorry - I truly am, but this time I am angry and am not just going to 'support' whoever gets the next job, particularly after the way things have gone down this week.

Our club is a laughing stock at the moment and we are the most unprofessionally run club in Australia. The way this entire debacle has played out in the media has been embarrassing and I never want to see the club's dirty laundry aired in public the way it has been the last few weeks.

While most will support a new coach next year, the way DA has been treated has been terrible and if I were a new coach, I would be very worried considering the way the past 3 coaches have been treated and in 2 out of 3 cases, shown the door.

Further, I refuse to think that a new coach will solve all our problems. DA has been used as a scape goat for our poor season and his removal, while it might help us next year, I think is a band aid solution to what is a deeper problem within the club.
  • DA had no control over his players. The team Parramatta is bigger than any individual. If Brian Smith, Wayne Bennett or any other coach from the top 8 was leading our squad, I guarantee our results would have been alot different. On paper our team is better than most, yet we really struggled all year. We were probably lucky to finish where we did.

The team needs a leader that can take control. Not a buddy then works on emotions. We had no tactical plan in attack. Our team looked as if they just met up 1 hr prior to kick off.

Someone please give me some stats on repeat sets or tries we earned from set plays. Hayne running 75m is not a set play.

DA put his heart into it but as a true Parra supporter, he was shit.
  • To be honest K-DOG, I'm not so interested in rating DA as a coach. Whether or not this will be the correct decision will be revealed as we undertake preparations for the oncoming season.

My problem is the way the Board have conducted themselves this season and through mess up after mess up their positions are safe, while poor DA seems the only one copping it for our poor results this season.
    • Agree with you about the board but if DA had taken us to the semis then no one would really care about what the board said or did. DA had hard decisions to make throughout the year but didn't. We as supporters sat there week in week out watching garbage from our member's seats and the coach didn't change anything the following week. Other coaches would have hooked players. The only player DA hooked continuously was the only player other than Hayne that showed something in attack, - Mateo.

I am not a tough marker, and at the start of the year was saying that what happened last year would not be repeated in RL history for a while. What Hayne did was nothing short of brilliant.

If DA was able to get a competitive side on the park each week and we didn't make the finals, I would have been fine with that. What happened this year was a joke.

Can you blame Ossie cause we don't find touch? Can you blame Ossie cause we don't contest bombs? Can u blame Ossie cause everytime we get into the oposition 20 our kicking options are dumb?

The coaching was poor ! Very simple. Life sucks butwe need to move on. Ossie has done a good job. Our members have grown and we are now stronger financially. Don't blame the board cause we drop ball and were shit all year. Blame the coach!
      • Completely disagree with you K-Dog.

I have been utterly unimpressed, disappointed and embarrassed about the way our club has been run. From the media leaks to the 'Cooper will be an Eel one day' our club reeks of unprofessionalism. While making the semis would have proved an open distraction, that doesn't make it appropriate or desirable for an administration to be run the way ours has recently. Further, if you think that the semi's can be made while all this rubbish is going on in the back offices, then I think you fail to appreciate the totality of the Eels as an organisation. It's not the coach and the players in one box and the administration in the other - the two depend on each other and both need to be gotten right.

You have to appreciate that DA was caught between a rock and a hard place in regard to Morts. While I am not condoning his decision to play him at half for so long, the Mortimers wanted him in that position, he was our marquee signing for the year and just persisted with too long. It was a blunder of epic proportions, but it was a difficult decision.

And it looks like I was making signs for the wrong people? It appears that DA must not only coach, but be responsible for every iota of our game. I don't blame Ossie that we didn't find touch, but I most certainly don't blame DA. That is a basic skill and one that doesn't need to be coached out of players.

We need to move on - but that doesn't mean that we accept unprofessionalism and decision making which is disrespectful, dishonourable and not within the spirit of our club. If you were a coach would you want to come to Parra? Think about the way DA and Smith were treated. If you aren't successful your head is on the block. Its hardly conducive to attracting the best talent.
  • AMEN.

While im not happy with how it was done, im looking forward and trying to be positive.

Hopefully everything falls into place =)
  • Ditto.
