We need to win big

The competition is very congested in the middle and the difference between 5th and 10th could come down to for and against.

With two byes that count for zero for and against and three critical games

Bulldogs
Storm
Tigers

It is critical that we try and win big. The likelihood of beating the storm in Melbourne is low. Not impossible but low.
If we want to stamp our place as finals contenders it needs to be on the throats of the Bulldogs and Tigers.
We really need to smash one of these teams.
However with, hooker stocks dwindling and Beau scott in doubt.
Can we really be a side that smashes a side without conceding many points.
I think we need to show this against the Tigers.
That will be a defining game for the Eels.
We need to not only beat them but we need to totally dominate them and try to get our for and against back on track so we can really try to compete for fourth spot.

  • Playing finals could very well come down to our For & Against, and its pretty crap....

  • When manu brings that " cook the man some f..ken eggs attitude , we can smash any team . Lol
  • Actually, Melbourne have lost more games at home this season than they have away. So given it's Origin period and they'll be down troops it might be our chance. Sure they beat the Cowboys in golden point but that was a Cowboys side without Thurston, Morgan and Cooper. If we start like we did against the Dragons I think we'd have a good shot at beating them. With a young, inexperienced spine it'd be hard for them to get over the shock of being steamrolled early on and will force them to chase points which isn't something Melbourne likes doing even with Smith and co. They prefer to lead and manage the game.

  • First step is to keep winning games, one way or another the for and against takes care of itself. All matches are important, to think the game against the Tigers is defining is getting way to ahead of yourself !!!

  • seriously, when was the last time we won big????
    2009???
  • All we need to do is win. 1 point or by 30, if we win say 6 of our remaining games, we'll be sweet. If we can't win 6, we may as well pack up for 2017. Simple.
  • We need to learn to play for 80 mins 1st. then we can focus on winning big.

  • Yep it's all about an 80 min performance. We are only playing for 60.
  • Bar maybe the Broncos games we have every chance of beating the rest of those teams. Not a bad run home at all IMO

  • Try to win big and we lose
We need five more wins and we are in the finals
7 games are against teams either below us or depleted from origin

We will win big when we get fair refereeing
Once we get ahead the refs try to even up the score board

"I feel like trials are more a sign of how bright your future will be, it's a lot of your younger and depth options getting a chance to showcase their game. Eels 2027 and onwards looks very bright "

"Wise words, LB. Can't disagree. Trials often lie, but they can also reveal. I'm happy with how 1-28 played, especially the kids. There appears buy in, fitness and cohesion. Hopefully, that isn't an illusion."
