we need a halves coach

There is plenty calling for a new coach, dropping players or even a roster overhaul. Yet we won the first 2 games and were touted as top 4 side. What has changed. A few poor decision in attack, players running wrong lines causing obstructions like Jennings yesterday. I also didn't have a problem with the tactic of kicking out as we did yesterday. It meant RTS couldn't return ball but this tactic was ineffectively used. It is good when near half way but not finding touch or only getting extra couple meters was not way it should be done. You need to aim kick to there 20 or 10 meter line.It is still early in the season and we are 1 game behind teams that most had as definite top 8 and probable top 4 sides. We have Kenny Edwards to come back, a new spine and also 20 more rounds to play. We have had to play players out of position in last few games due to injuries and instead of panic BA has made smart decision not to panic. For many years we have promoted players early in season blowing our 2nd tier cap so when we need them late in season we are unable to do so. I think this point has been missed by many wanting changes so early in season. We are bound to have more injuries and need players in run to finals.Yes parra have issues but the best sides don't just sack coaches and players after a few losses. Stability is the key and I believe we have roster to challenge for top 8 with a few minor changes. The major change needed is we need a halves coach. If Cronk is not going to play as speculated BA should be on the phone to him asking about possibility of guiding our young halves such as the johns brothers do in part time halves coaching role. If not maybe locky would be good fit. Cronk was a utility who Bellamy was unsure where to play and Matty johns transformed him into the half he his. Matty also worked with Munster and Slater. Granted cronk has a work ethic and is meticulous in all he does but there is talk gutho has similar work ethic and commitment. Players can be transformed. When Moses comes with Norman our spine will be 1 of youngest and could use guidance on how to control a game and make the right choices and improve our kicking choices.We have the forward pack to get us into field position and next year with Kane Evans added we will be even stronger. That is not to say we can't do it this year. Kenny will add more energy into the team when he returns and hopefully the semi saga ends soon. Maybe if he gets ruled out for year we will see team bond together against the odds again like last year.

Kimmorely was our halves coach for this year I'm pretty sure but could be wrong there.
He has bigger issues to deal with :(

Yeah but mate how fecking bored will he get.

We don't actually have a first grade halfback in the squad. Not every club has a Cooper Cronk sitting in the wings.

This rabble needs a halfback - and a leader - we don't have anything anywhere near close to either.

And from what I can tell the solution is to throw a bucket load of cash at the totally unproven Mitchel Moses - a number 6 barely out of diapers.

You would have thought the coaching staff would have figured this stuff out in the off season.

Honestly, what a massive call by Arthur changing up his halves combination and centre, thus having a new right side in defense, which was found out twice.

The only reasonable explanation is that Taka is keeping the seat warm for Moses, otherwise Guth should have remained @6.

  It doesn't make sense does it but still early in season. I think BA may have used chance see try new things and maybe test gutho at fullback. Gutho was caught out of position and had chase lot of kicks which found empty space so don't my think he better option then French. There also been calls try au'va at centre so maybe he was going make debut even before French injury occurred. It better to experiment early in season as other teams also trying find there best style of play and work on new combos too.

  If that was the case Hoff should have been FB and Guth should be getting used to centre while Taka was at 5/8th.

  The only reason that lineup make sence was giving gutho a chance to make fb his, as ba probally has no idea where he fits in the squad in assuming gutho would see 5/8 to centre a downgrade etc could see us lineing up with guth
